Just in time for the holidays~
I know that everyone is looking forward to the Holiday Lane opening, don't worry it hasn't been forgotten! We have been experiencing some shop glitches(all admin side) so we're behind on a few things. The pets are going to be stocked and it will be open shortly, however I do want to forwarn everyone that we will be having a new currency! One of the major points of feedback we have received is how older users get an advantage when it comes to events. So to help with this we are going to begin having the events with a non-item currency, so this currency will not be tradeable and everyone will start fresh every year.
We will be trying to think of a trade in for all your candy canes and snowflakes that you have been sitting on for the past few years, but they will not be the main currency this year.
Speaking of our feedback! We have finally finished compiling all of the comments we got and we are thrilled with the amount of feedback! There was several comments specifically stating that they loved the anonymous feedback, without worrying about what the other users will think of them or their opinions. Due to this we are intending on doing this more often, however it also brings us a great deal of sadness how many people stated that they were actually afraid to post their opinions where other users could see it.
That isn't right. I know that Aywas is going through quite a bit right now, but we are all a large family. Nobody should be afraid of any others, and Staff will not tolerate abuse. So I wish to remind everyone, if you are being harassed, if somebody is insulting you, or even just bothering you, whether it is on a thread, pet comments, news comments, PM's, anywhere, please contact one of our moderators. That is what they are here for. To help make you feel comfortable.
Now, I am going to go through and address several points that were brought up in the closed comments but to prevent cluttering up the news post further please come over to this thread if you are curious~

Even I look at items and go "I literally have no idea what you do and I was here when you were first released" - it's ridiculous that we have so many items like that. I might put a thread in Aywas Talk or somewhere for people to post items that are cryptic in annoying ways, so we can get those updated.
Yeah, that's why we've extended in the past and likely will considering doing it again - not to mention we tend to keep shops open longer than we plan sometimes (but don't plan on us doing it, because that'll be the one time we have our ducks in a row XD)
It's okay - I've used pings wrong here before, I just have the ability to delete my shame and try again XDD

The item clarification would be greatly appreciated... I understand the desire to have some surprises when it comes to what items do, but not being able to find out exactly what an item does before I spend currency on it just annoys me....

Eve (#2775) Any feedback on the rest of my comment? I had some valid points, like how the currency change affects a significant user demographic and may actively discourage users buying GP? The comment on abusive staff was a wee footnote, but it was the only thing responded to.

Flaming Catz (#38339) - I think I missed the part about it expiring or misunderstood what you were saying with that, and I do apologise for that. Like Dren and Arem's suggestion we can absolutely put that on the table for discussion with staff, but again can't guarantee we'll roll with the idea, or that if we do that anything will happen this year, but it will absolutely be discussed with serious consideration.
Jemadar (#73611) - These days we try to only keep things vague if they're a surprise release, and make sure they have the appropriate information after the fact, but yes there are so many that need updating. I think once I've had something to eat I'll look into making a thread for people to put forward items that need a little more care attention from us!
Calico ☕ (#25718) - I felt I'd addressed your points in other posts, I'm sorry you don't feel that I did. Users will still be able to trade for the items they wish in whatever currency they would normally use - just as with Love Letter points, and many enjoyed user events, the option to trade will still very much be there although you will be trading for the items or access to a person's points, rather than receiving the items to spend yourself. This has worked successfully for years, and we don't see that it wouldn't in this case too.

To be fair with Valentine's you can buy LL even if you need to send them. Plus it's the limited and high end fair that's made that work for Valentine's I think.

Very possibly, but I still venture that it's been very successful in multiple user event areas, and no one has suggested previous to now that there were any issues with those events or the point collection system.

Another factor being it feels like having something taken away when it's changed like this.

Lol, it's okay! I completely understand why it feels that way - like many people I have a lot of event currency that will now not work in the shop. it's completely natural to look at that and go "oh...". It's completely reasonable to be excited, to be anxious, to be disappointed all at the same time.
