Teo Eggs

Site Update

We've finally figured out what we want to do with Teo Eggs! Like we said before, we decided that a random event was going to determine the owners of Teo Eggs (as opposed to breeding and adoption center stalking, as then everyone could have a chance).

To prevent people from auto-refreshing or cheating to get Teos, which was our main issue with them being a pure chance random event considering it'd cause a lot of lag, we decided that one teo egg will be given out by the site at 6:00 PM every day. All you have to do is be online at that time and the script could randomly choose you to send the Teo Egg event to.

Good luck! There are sixty five Teo sitting in the queue right now so a new one will go out at 6:00 PM for quite a while, and we'll restock them as needed.

Ok, being a programmer has nothing to do with it though. I *was* a programmer, perhaps you should reread what you had said, Orange. Your statement came off more of an accusation that the site was being biased towards certain groups, rather than asking if the coding had allowed that? You didn't even mention programming *in* your question, not everyone is going to assume you are talking about something when it isn't mention even once.

Orange (#52359) ~~ your query was phrased in such a way that it seemed as if it was saying the site probably scripted to lean forwards to certain numbers, etc. I understand that you wanted an answer to a technical question. However, the way you had phrased it was the reason you got bashed.

For that, I apologize, for that should not happen - but like Eveglori (#2775) said - phrasing things online can be tricky when it's about something that could be perceived as being accusing, etc.

Frid (#28513) - Lol, too true. I can't remember the last time I wasn't on Aywas for several hours at a time XDD
JScofi (#49041) - I know you're right *nods* All staff members are volunteers, so we don't get compensated for the time we spend working on the site - and for most of us we work on it far more than we play on it, so when we get any little stroke of luck or we allow ourselves to enjoy one aspect it hurts more that we're being told we're not entitled to enjoy the site we help keep running. People don't realise that posts like that have most staff terrified to enter any kind of contest because of the bile we've had directed at staff winners before. Heck, a ton of staff went purposefully offline to miss the 6pm Teo Egg because if one of us got it we'd never hear the end of it.
In the end it's not just that people are being unnecessarily cruel, it's that they are - post by post - trying to strip us of any last enjoyment we have left.
Orange (#52359) - I am very glad that you love Aywas enough to put money into furthering that enjoyment, but you should be aware that mentioning this in every post is only serving to make you sound as though you feel more entitled to have your voice heard than other members. This naturally rubs people the wrong way, as does levelling accusations towards people (whether it was accidental poor wording or intentional), and will likely be why people have taken negative note of your posts.

I wish staff wouldn't be terrified. :/

They should all also be allowed to enjoy Aywas, too. *hugs to every staff person*

And to those talking about being fair.

first, to truly be fair, it would be given to any user in the entire database, whether or not they even play anymore (60,000+ users)

Secondly, its supposed to be a rare item event. You're not guarenteed one. Stink, the only way to guarentee that people can get them is to either give one to every user (see above) or put it in an npc shop until they run out (like the black friday event)

Oh, i guess the advent calendar would be the middle ground there, letting everyone who comes on that day get one.

Hmm, this sounds cool but again lots of people here have 6PM Aywas time at very strange times of the day. So perhaps rotating drop times? :o

Feeshy (#880) Thank you for mentioning this. that was the exact event i was speaking about. I was afraid to mention it because of all the personal attacks on me now
Kaiyo (#489) ~Sunny (#41814) having a priority queue that favors lower id # or staff members would a the common sense way to code how post are organized on a forum not purposely biased for a competition
Eveglori (#2775) absolutely not saying i'm more entitled but I do think players should be able to ask question. Your name calling and continued personal attacks on me seems unprofessional.

I agree with others are suggesting about a random time every day. That way no time zone gets favored and people aren't killing the site at 6 PM every day. -Riri
