Update: Fire � Deja (#1163) has contacted the shelter but lives in California. They can hold the cat until tonight. Slash is willing to cover the cost to ship the cat, but we need a Florida person to actually go in TODAY and adopt the cat so that he can be transported to Deja.

Do you know anyone who lives near Tampa Bay, Florida who could adopt a cat? There's a really sweet black cat that's due to be killed in a few hours if he can't find a home or enough pledges or a rescue.

I won't be able to answer any PMs or anything because I'm about to try to sleep, I've gotten myself so worked up and upset over this that I need to take a step back. But please, I urge anyone to email the shelter and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, call them immediately beginning at 7AM their time and not letting up until you have a person on the line with you, offering pledges or anything to keep him alive. I wish the very best to this poor kitty and the others that are scheduled to die tomorrow too. ;n; -Lizzy

Why has a 4 month old kitten been scheduled for Euthenasia? Is he sick? Is he aggressive? Is it because they can't find him a home? I don't understand ;A;
If I lived near there I would drive out there in a heart-beat to try and save him though. At such a young age he's just starting life and deserves a chance to enjoy it in a loving home.

usually if an animal is not sick or aggressive it is due to over crowding issues, there are many many cats sadly here and "undesirable" get euthanized first which is sadly black cats :( from what i know from my knowledge could be something else at well.

Well I hope this has a happy ending. I am totally on the wrong hemisphere even. Mind you, I don't think the cat that adopted us will let us have a 2nd cat. Not while he's around anyway.

If I wasn't in Canada I could have taken him in for a while, we foster animals occasionally and my sister has been asking for a black cat for two years now so he might even have ended up staying. If I can help in any way, like shipping money or donating to the shelter for him to stay alive until we find a home or someone to foster, just PM me I'll be happy to help!
