Update: Fire � Deja (#1163) has contacted the shelter but lives in California. They can hold the cat until tonight. Slash is willing to cover the cost to ship the cat, but we need a Florida person to actually go in TODAY and adopt the cat so that he can be transported to Deja.
M-M-Mini + LizzyLiz (#567) has an urgent message to Florida Aywasians:
Do you know anyone who lives near Tampa Bay, Florida who could adopt a cat? There's a really sweet black cat that's due to be killed in a few hours if he can't find a home or enough pledges or a rescue.

Include you name and contact information and let the shelter know you can pick up the cat tomorrow. MUST BE PICKED UP TOMORROW!! You can also try calling the shelter starting at 8AM at 813-744-5660 to make sure your email was seen.

I hope he gets adopted. I actually wrote an essay in English class about why it should be illegal for shelters to euthanize animals for the sole reason of making more space.

I live in Florida two hours away, but my mom refuses to drive out there to adopt him ;^; I hope this has a happy ending...
