Update: Fire � Deja (#1163) has contacted the shelter but lives in California. They can hold the cat until tonight. Slash is willing to cover the cost to ship the cat, but we need a Florida person to actually go in TODAY and adopt the cat so that he can be transported to Deja.
M-M-Mini + LizzyLiz (#567) has an urgent message to Florida Aywasians:
Do you know anyone who lives near Tampa Bay, Florida who could adopt a cat? There's a really sweet black cat that's due to be killed in a few hours if he can't find a home or enough pledges or a rescue.

Oh wow. Almost wish I didn't live in Canada. I want another cat.
I hope you an get him, Deja! At least then he'd be happy [I assume.. who knows, he may just not like you for some reason. //shrugs. Animals are weird sometimes], and alive.

You might be better off getting someone to adopt him for you then ask them to ship him -- I don't think the shelter will ship D8

I wish I lived in Florida so I could help. But even if I did, my father has incredible allergies to cats. I managed to rescue a lost cat a few days ago, but even if all else worked out, I'm leaving town soon and wouldn't be able to bring this sweet baby... D: I hope all turns out alright

Well, if he doesn't like me, so be it. I will adopt him out to a new home. Not kill him. Animals have rights, and no one should ever think that euthanasia is the answer. Ever. (I'm 3 years away from getting my veterinarian degree & license, to boot!)
