Snake Solis

Pets

It's the 5th anniversary of Steve Irwin's death. It's strange how it's already been five years since he died... I still watch his show on Animal Planet, and he had always shown reptiles in a positive light, something we still need more of in the media.

In his memory I released some more snake-related Solis into Explore:

Did Steve Irwin inspire you?

They're beautiful and he inspired me to work with animals and follow my dreams. I'm amazed it has been five years as well...

Steve Irwin was a dear inspiration to me; his enthusiasm and warmth toward his work and the way he spread awareness really drove me to move into the environmental field. Thank you for this awareness event!

Do they even still play his show on Animal Planet? Seems like all they play these days is rubbish.

I was never really a big fan of the guy, but I did respect him a great deal.

I, too am an Aussie, and a major animal lover.
Steve Irwin was my hero, my role model. May he rest in peace.

I can't believe it's been five years. He was my biggest inspiration towards getting reptilian companions, and I would routinely watch his show with my iguana years ago. I hope she and my recently passed snake are having fun with him, where ever they may be.
