It's the 5th anniversary of Steve Irwin's death. It's strange how it's already been five years since he died... I still watch his show on Animal Planet, and he had always shown reptiles in a positive light, something we still need more of in the media.
In his memory I released some more snake-related Solis into Explore:

Ooo, I especially like the first one. I can believe it's been five years... I was in college when it happened and now I'm not, so... ^_^;; But yeah, even as someone who barely paid attention to such TV shows, Steve Irwin was an icon and an inspiration.

I agree, all the stuff they show now is nothing compared to what he did, yes his daughter has a show but she is nothing like her dad was. Plus they barely show it half the time *sighs* rest in peace my good friend. maybe others follow your footsteps and do good in the world as you did :(

Your post gave me goosebumps. I loved Steve Irwin, it blows me away that its been 5 years already. He was such an advocate for animals big and small. A true tribute to him would only be to love and protect animals and their way of life the best we can. Rest in Peace Steve. <3

I used to watch his show all the time when I was little... And now it's kinda hard for me to watch because I feel so sad that he's gone whenever I do... :(

I got pregnant around the time he died after having tried for years... so, I can believe how long it has been. I have my little boy now :D

It's been 5 years already? Oh my gosh... that's crazy. I grew up with him, and he was my idol. My dad and I would watch his show together all the time when I was young. It was like a piece of my childhood went with him when he left us... But he can have it. He deserves it. He was a great man, with so much respect for all living things. May he rest in peace. It was a nice idea to release some pets in honor of him. I don't usually collect solis, but I intend on capturing every one of these :3

slash I admire you for doing this. I also grew up watching Steve Irwin, watching him and his family on animal planet was a pass time for me when I was young. When he died it was a hard blow for me. T.T

Five years.. my god.. I still remember where I was when I heard. I cried.
I watched Steve's show throughout my entire childhood. I remember very word to the old theme song. The one they don't play anymore. >>
