I don't know about you, but my heart always bleeds a little when I see someone lose their pet (or its PSD) due to a small slip up (it's happened before you know it - trust me, I've been there). It's even more awful when the pet in question is an expensive pet bought during a sale (think Teos, Fauxes and Snoodles), and there is no way for you to undo your mistake!
Therefore, please take a minute to read our suggestions on how to protect your precious customs from those derpy moments.
In short, there are three steps you'll want to go through to protect your pet as much as possible:
1) Download your pet's PSD
2) Attach your pet's PSD
3) Lock your pet

Downloading your pet's PSD
No matter the kind of pet, you want to gain control of the PSD as soon as possible. You never know when download links might break or expire and your pet's PSD is lost forever.
This is especially true for sale pets: all links to PSDs for pets sold during the Black Friday and Mayday sales will only stay active for about 6 months. After that the links are wiped and not even staff can recover the PSD for you. Even if you don't plan on using the PSD yourself, you should always grab them and keep them somewhere safe, just in case.
Extra tip: pets that have their PSD are in general easier to sell than those that don't - and they often fetch a higher price, too!
(If you haven't grabbed your Black Friday '16 pet's PSD yet, do it now! In a month or two, the PSDs will be wiped permanently. Go on, I'll wait here until you're done *pulls up a chair*)
Attaching your pet's PSD
Not only does this greatly simplify things if you ever decide to breed the pet, it also acts as some kind of back-up. If your computer decides to have a meltdown and all your files are gone, you can still re-download any PSDs attached to your pets. So even for those who never breed their pets, attaching PSDs is a must! Don't get rid of the original PSD on your own drive, though! There's always a chance the aywas drive someday has a meltdown of its own.
For gen 1 pets, you can attach the PSD yourself by visiting your pet's profile, clicking "Edit Pet" and then "Select file". Gen 2 pets should come with their PSD attached, but if your pet is a bit older or needs its PSD updated, you can post in the Gen 2+ Pet PSD Upload thread (note: the thread is currently closed, but Rudy promised me she'll make a newspost with an update soon).
Locking your pet
Even if your PSD is safe, that won't do you much good if you accidentally zap or potion over your pet. Getting your pet back after a slipup like that, can be very expensive or even close to impossible. The only way to protect your pet from this fate, is to lock it. At the time of writing, there are three different ways to do this:
1) Through the locking feature:
Visit your "my pets" page and click "Lock ___ from Modification" next to your pet. This costs 5 GP.
2) By using a Save Point:
This is a one-use item that was released during a user event. As a result, it's not available in any site shops, but you might occasionally find one in the user shops.
3) By using a Lockbox:
This item was the premium item in December 2014 and regenerates once per week. It is by far the best choice if you're looking to lock a lot of pets in the long term and don't want to spend a fortune on doing it. In addition, you might occasionally find generous users on the forums who are offering to lend out their lockboxes to others!

With that said, please do not rely on 24 hour warnings in the future, as they are not promised to happen. When the closing dates are announced, please make note of them and plan accordingly! Also, Kaiyo may be MIA for a bit, as a power pole has decided to go down.

Edit 3 Xaoc Elixir has been stocked and already grabbed!
Edit 2 Good Evening everyone! -yawns- Sorry to post so late after midnight but I had quite a bit of love letters to still send out. That being said, I am sorry to say that the BP Sink tier was not reached before midnight. However, you all *did* still push that tier, although a little late. So I will compromise and grant you a window that the Xaoc Elixir will be stocked!
You will be able to find the Xaoc Elixir in the Seasonal Shop at some point between 6pm and 8pm Aywas Time on the 7th!

Edit Good morning Dearies! I was all ready to go and count these wonderful items you sent me and I saw that one of you sent 5,000 Love Letters just straight up! That is just far too much love for one little old lady so I am going to put them all into the Donation Box! That being said you have already completed 2 out of 3 of the tasks! For the BP sink challenge you have to unlock the base by Yam! If you do this quickly I will add a few more "Greater" tiers that will reduce the price of the Xaoc Elixir or maybe even add a second!
Hope you are all having a wonderful evening, I am just popping in with that update you were promised about the Xaoc Elixir that will be in the Seasonal Shop!
It will be stocked sometime on March 7th and cost less than 2000 Love points!
I know, I'm just so helpful aren't I? I suppose you probably want some more specific information so I have decided to do a 24 hour (or so) site wide contest! There are three tiers, each task the site completes unlocks a new tier and tomorrow evening I will announce all the gained information!
Tiers
Tier 1: The exact price of the Xaoc Elixir Unlocked! The price will be 1400 Love Letter Points!
Tier 2: Whether it will show up in the AM or the PM Unlocked! It will be stocked in the PM!
Tier 3: The exact time it will go into the store!
Tasks
- Fill the Adoption Center! Put a total of 500 Pets in the Adoption Center
- Unlock a new tier in the BP Sink
- Send Account #11 5000 Items with the word "Love" In it!
You may also have noticed that we've stocked Love Letters in the Seasonal Shop as well! No they're not for Love Letter points, that would just be silly. You can get the Love Letters and Stack of Love Letters for BP and they will be sold up until the Seasonal Shop closes.

As many of you have noticed, we have officially finished processing the Aymas Wish Threads! All gifts have been given out, we did have 2 users win a Real Life Melo Merchandise and I will be contacting them within the next few days to get their addresses. I am not going to post the winners as there were over 100 total winners between the two threads. Anyone who wants to show off what they got is more than welcome to!
Just a small tidbit of information, we have updated the Seasonal Shop link in the Shop directory for ease of access.
I also keep getting asked, but yes, a Xaoc Elixir will make an appearance in the Seasonal Shop, there will be more information in a few days regarding it.

Good evening Dearies! So sorry for the delay, it took a while to get rid of all the leftover glitter from Aymas! I am happy to announce that the Seasonal Shop is now open for business! We have a wide assortment of pets and some new items! I will touch up on the specialty ones, but most are pretty straight forward!
First up! You can find the Love Capsule in the Trash for Treasure shop, and it will turn your active into 1 random pet from the Seasonal Shop.
The Elixir of Love is a random potion that will turn your pet into one of ten exclusive colorations! You can find them all in the Aywapedia!
We have a vast assortment of different HA clothes, several different trunks and individual items to decorate your character throughout the year! Check out the wardrobe preview to see them all.
Quite a few fauna have shown up this year, and they're all pretty in pink!
The Love Picnic Basket is one of our big ticket items this year! It regenerates weekly and you can reach in and grab out one of the random "Love" foods from previous holidays! The Heart Shaped Box is another regenerating item, this one you can open every week to pull out a piece of chocolate! Each piece does something different! What is better than an everlasting box of chocolate?
There are also two new alcohols for you to enjoy! So drink up! ;D
The final item I would like to address is Eryn's Satchel! It will unlock the forum title "Eryn's Helper"!
The shop will be open for one week, and will close March 7th at 11:59pm AST. During this time you can still collect and exchange Love Letters! We will also be throwing some random high tier items into the shop randomly for Love Letter Points, however I will forwarn you that the Engagement Ring will not be one of them.
The Valentines Stationary will be coming out shortly, gotta get them all uploaded!
It was also suggested that we should have an introductory sale for the new Platinum Custom Crystals, so if you have some Silver pets that you have been waiting to upload now is the time! You can find them in the USD shop for $30! They will remain at this price for the full week that the Seasonal Shop is open!
And yes! We do have two new shopkeepers this year!
You can make these cuties with the Love Potion #9 all year round!

I want to take a moment to thank everyone posting in our Think Tank and announce that we have already decided to implement a few of these! First up, we are going to hold a Special Artist Event!. Some of our older members may remember these, however with the commission panel being added they were no longer necessary as users could hire their artists for cash there. Instead, this event will temporarily remove the predict cap entirely!
Starting right now, artists have until February 27th to accept as many prediction commissions as they feel they can complete within one month. The USD commissions must go through the Commission Panel! All information must be handled in the artists thread and all commissions must be completed by March 27th, 2017. Please see this thread for detailed rules and information! And visit the Predict Event 2017 Board! for who is participating!
The Derpy Dragon and Tiny Silver Potion have both found their way into the USD shop as requested! At this point they are permanent members, as we are hoping to be able to stimulate the SCC market a bit!
We have created a new Platinum Custom Crystal! This crystal is similar to the Silver Custom Crystal, however it does not work with the Silver Custom Panel. This means you will have to provide the the art yourself or hire another artist to do it for you. This crystal is cheaper than the Silver Custom Crystal, and can be found in the GP and USD Shop. It may eventually be removed from one of the shops in the future.
The results of the Save a Raw poll are in! We are happy to announce the winner:
The Horuset is being moved to the ranks of Uncommon Ara! These birdsnakes can now be created with Flaming Orbs!
Because it has been so long and we have so many raws, we have also saved two more raws! The Tavi can now be found under Uncommon Ay, and the Heggal is now a Common Ay species!
We are making a few adjustments to the way users and staff interact. We have received an influx of behavior in crystal checks and customs, that if a user would do to another user they would receive a warning. Due to this, we are going to start moderating these actions and users will receive punishment for when staff is involved, as well. If you repeatedly disrespect and abuse staff, you may receive a warning as well as a temporary customs ban.
This ban is one month in length and means that you cannot submit Crystal Checks, Repository PSDs, or custom designs. Any attempts to do so will lengthen the ban, as will using friends to circumvent it. Anyone found to be aiding a customs banned user in using the custom system will also receive the ban.
This is an unfortunate move that we're having to make, and we hope that this is not something we will have to institute on other features on the site.
One more bit of information, the poll! There has been talk for a Teo Pen, similar to the Fox Pen, that will allow 10% edits for a Gen 1 Teo. Staff is entirely divided on this, so we thought it would be best to ask everyone elses opinion! Please feel free to comment below! The pen would be for USD to help keep them limited and only allow 10% edits.

I'm really bad at news titles in case you guys haven't noticed...
But.... I'm here to post a few quick notices! First up we have a user suggestion from Kirara, introducing the Fancy Rock Custom Crystal and Fancy Rock Crystal Wand! These super shiny items will allow you upload an edited version of either the monthly Rock Custom species, or one of the retired monthly Rock Custom species. When submitting with the Rock Crystal Wand, please include a link to the original pet in your comments to help our crystal checkers! These items allow up to 50% edit room!
After seeing a thread about the confusion of the Painted Twins and Painted Eggs being compatible (but not actually being compatible) we have decided to truly make them compatible! From this news post on, if you combine a Painted Twins and Painted Eggs with either a PLBC or PMBC, you are allowed to submit 3 predictions, but will not receive a site baby. Please keep in mind that married pairs do not affect the amount of predictions you are allowed with this combination.
If you used Painted Twins but only want your predictions and not a site baby, you can mention that in the notes and my checker will process them quickly.
I am happy to announce that the temp artists I have hired are doing great! If you wish to ticket or pen one of them we are going to keep the Sketch Breeding Coin knowledge base updated! The Painted coin KB articles are not yet updated with the GP artists, though we will be updating those soon as well! If you wish to pen one of them feel free to list "GP Artist" in your notes.
To conclude, I wanted to make everyone aware that I am going to be out for the weekend! I have to make an emergency trip to Michigan for family troubles. I will still have my phone and will try to address what I can, however please understand that I won't have much time, and for a portion of the trip I won't be able to get on at all.

Happy Valentines Day dearies, so sorry I'm visiting you so late! I have been busy running around delivering all of your beautiful love letters!
Which brings me to why I am here today, what better way of expressing your love than by saving one of our sweet member of Aywas? Please choose one of the below retired raw species to be saved and brought to be a permanent species! You won't get to choose where the pet goes due to past issues staff is going to choose based on the pet that wins.
As a late Valentines gift make sure to check the advent calendar tomorrow!
I would also like to direct everyone to your My Pets page! We forgot an addition to the cooking when we did the initial release, however on this page you can actually choose which pet you would like to cook with. By selecting "Cook with this pet" it will take you right to a session with Claude!
