I know my last news post said there would be a slew of news from me over the weekend, however as you can gather things resumed their attempts to keep me from doing what I've promised!
The first fantastic news, though, is that the queues are officially all processed and empty, and ready to be filled again! I haven't tagged in Yasu to get us up and running again yet, but I plan to do that once this post has been made, so the queues will be open again very soon.
Which brings me to the mixed bag you're about to dive into...
Common Genus Holiday Makers
These items are a nice and cheap option to make some lovely pets, but with the fluctuation of rules loosening and tightening, no one really knows where they stand - including staff!
Due to this the decision to retire the Orange and Holiday Custom Crystals and Orbs has been made.
(The Coal and Silver Holiday items will be remaining active.)
But don't despair!
You will be able to trade them in for Blue Custom items - 1 will get you an unbreedable item, 5 will get you the breedable item. Exchanges will be set up in the Annoying Item Bazaar.
You also have until September 19th to upload any pets you want to attempt to put through the four common holiday queues, before the items are retired from custom making.
Cracked Nova Crystal Orb
People have asked about unbreedable Uncommon items for a while now, and we thought that instead of releasing four new items we would consolidate them into one super custom maker.
The Cracked Nova Crystal Orb can make an unbreedable custom of any Uncommon genus (excluding the Sevryn) that has 0-75% edits. It is now stocking in the SP Shop for 3 SP.
Genus Changing Amulet
Another user request has been that we create an Uncommon-to-Uncommon genus change item - but we thought that no one needs the hassle of another item when we have one that's perfectly fine as it is!
From today the Amulet will support both Common-to-Common AND Uncommon-to-Uncommon genus changes, within their own region (for example, you still won't be able to change a Drylis into a Melo, and you won't be able to change an Oakl into an Unus).
Vion Planter
Just when you think I'm done... Well, after this I am because I need a nap.
Do you have a gorgeous Vion that you just can't force to under 50%? Have you shaken your fist at the skies and cursed my name for it? Well, curse no longer!
The Vion Planter is a 75% Vion custom maker. It's not going to be an incredibly common item, much like the Bottled Celestial Stream, but we're giving you a head start on grabbing them with a 1 day release into the GP shop at an undisclosed time over the next two weeks.

It seems that the poor Cauldron Custom thread is as dusty, empty, and disappointing as a certain item I'm not mentioning...
We have some cute designs in there, but nowhere near enough for our needs!

Or it could still be a stupidly short deadline. Not mincing words, you can say all you want that you have data showing these items weren't being used- and I would belive you if you weren't such a biased source- and that STILL wouldn't make six days okay.
People here are saying they spent usd. Now their choices are to rush through customs (and hope they pass, rip Swamp Witch, we'll always remember you), or try and get their money back, which just punishes artists. Also while the trades are set up to account for the overall number of items on the site, it doesn't reflect an average per account, so people are still getting ripped off in value.

I'm actually kinda happy that the Ornage and Candy Cane makers are going... the rules for them were so frustrating at times... you'd have a design that would pass with the lines but the colouring was wrong well not allowed... while other people's pets who didn't even seem to fit the theme were passed. It was really unfair. It's good to see them retired and be able to trade in for normal custom makers. It will make life simpler.

I'm mostly wondering what will replace them in all the holiday items. I feel as though the custom makers were pretty much the most common things from stockings and stuff, so I'm wondering if they'll be replaced with other things! :O
Shame I won't be able to use this PSD I traded for, since the price of the CCCCs went up a BUNCH in user shops and I haven't got much spare money. :(

I kinda feel like this is at a bad time with the old cauldron not having worked too, since they were the only real good thing in them. So it kinda feels like salt in the wound on that one. While I understand ((to an extent I do have mixed feeling still sorry)), I do feel bad for incoming newbies as the site keeps having to remove things that are more accessible to them.
Also the lack of holiday crackers is going to be depressing tbh. Can't say there's a lot of things I'm excited about for Aymas anymore.

If this has been asked I'm sorry but would it be possible to set up something where you can trade an OCC for a CCCC and same for the orbs. So that people who have an odd number of one can trade for the other. For example I have 4 the candy canes but I also have a couple of the oranges so it would be nice if I could exchange the orange ones for candy cane and get BCC instead of crumbs. If not I understand.

Would you perhaps consider trading a smaller amount of the holiday crystal/orbs for a bronze crystal/orb or a larger amount for a gold crystal/orb?

This is extremely sad and upsetting, I hardly make custom pets as it is, and I mainly use the holiday one's as it is, due to this i may be unable to make anymore custom pets. -.-

Any chance it can be coded in the AIB so we can exchange some of one and some of the other to get 5? Eg 4 CCCCs and 1 OCC to get a BCC?
