I know my last news post said there would be a slew of news from me over the weekend, however as you can gather things resumed their attempts to keep me from doing what I've promised!
The first fantastic news, though, is that the queues are officially all processed and empty, and ready to be filled again! I haven't tagged in Yasu to get us up and running again yet, but I plan to do that once this post has been made, so the queues will be open again very soon.
Which brings me to the mixed bag you're about to dive into...
Common Genus Holiday Makers
These items are a nice and cheap option to make some lovely pets, but with the fluctuation of rules loosening and tightening, no one really knows where they stand - including staff!
Due to this the decision to retire the Orange and Holiday Custom Crystals and Orbs has been made.
(The Coal and Silver Holiday items will be remaining active.)
But don't despair!
You will be able to trade them in for Blue Custom items - 1 will get you an unbreedable item, 5 will get you the breedable item. Exchanges will be set up in the Annoying Item Bazaar.
You also have until September 19th to upload any pets you want to attempt to put through the four common holiday queues, before the items are retired from custom making.
Cracked Nova Crystal Orb
People have asked about unbreedable Uncommon items for a while now, and we thought that instead of releasing four new items we would consolidate them into one super custom maker.
The Cracked Nova Crystal Orb can make an unbreedable custom of any Uncommon genus (excluding the Sevryn) that has 0-75% edits. It is now stocking in the SP Shop for 3 SP.
Genus Changing Amulet
Another user request has been that we create an Uncommon-to-Uncommon genus change item - but we thought that no one needs the hassle of another item when we have one that's perfectly fine as it is!
From today the Amulet will support both Common-to-Common AND Uncommon-to-Uncommon genus changes, within their own region (for example, you still won't be able to change a Drylis into a Melo, and you won't be able to change an Oakl into an Unus).
Vion Planter
Just when you think I'm done... Well, after this I am because I need a nap.
Do you have a gorgeous Vion that you just can't force to under 50%? Have you shaken your fist at the skies and cursed my name for it? Well, curse no longer!
The Vion Planter is a 75% Vion custom maker. It's not going to be an incredibly common item, much like the Bottled Celestial Stream, but we're giving you a head start on grabbing them with a 1 day release into the GP shop at an undisclosed time over the next two weeks.

It seems that the poor Cauldron Custom thread is as dusty, empty, and disappointing as a certain item I'm not mentioning...
We have some cute designs in there, but nowhere near enough for our needs!

aww a bit sad as well loosing the makers . instead of making 10 breedable customs id only get 10 unbreedable or 2 breedable. i guess i can understand the whole some things got confusing though an this is a way to simplify it. the only problem is I bought a Bunch of Psds to go with the theme of making them a breedable custom when i had the bp to afford a colorist for them. dont think ill be able to afford by the 19th eep wish we had a little bit of a better window to find pay an receive heh.

Thank you for giving us blue custom items for 'em, I can finally make some of my old pets breedable. I never really wanted to make customs just for the orange/candycane because I was worried it wouldn't be themed enough, or I just wasn't inspired to make a pet in those themes. Also awesome fast queue, thank you~<3

Uh, I just realized. Isn't 3 SP a bit steep for uncommon un-breedable pets? As it is, that would be 9-15 gp PER pet. For that much you can make 3 breedable ones if they're under 50% as Flame Orbs and Crystals are only 3 gp ATM. Even for Nova items it's only a 5-10 gp difference in price to get a breedable one.
I thought the point of unbreedable was to be cheaply made so you can make more of them ... Like the BCC ones are like 90k bp compared to 18 GP. I get it uncommons should be more expensive since they are uncommon but ... that's just not a deal to me.
I'll end up with one for hoarding, but won't be making anything with them. They're too expensive for anything other than a Nova coloration. And even then, you might as well just save up a little bit more and make it breedable at that price. Yikes!

Can't deny being sad as CCCC and CCCO are those I love to use and all four of them are what's easily affordable for most of us who just love the holiday colors/theme and can't afford BCC for example.. But I guess no choice. If it benefit site, I will accept it. Coz the site matters most. (It was also pretty good as giveaway items which ain't too cheap or too expensive. It was good being in the middle. XD)

Really? I *love* what Aywas is doing with phasing things out with minimal time to use them.....that's sarcasm, if it's not obvious. This is a really busy time of year with people going back to school and a lot of things ramping up in the work force, so what's with the bare week to make use of them?
That said - well, the custom makers were pretty much what made the Halloween and Christmas events fun. Not much motivation to participate in them otherwise, I'm not big on site pets anymore and I know a lot of people only want custom pets. :/ It's a shame to phase out items just because staff is all wibbley-wobbley over what constitutes a halloween/Christmas pet.
