Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!
Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?
The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.
Ooh, but wait! There's more!
Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).
Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!
Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!
Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!
Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!
Just smell those new pages!

One of my favorite books was given as a wedding gift by my ex husband who understood my love of the written word. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. The character of Kvothe is so rich and full of life that you cannot help but feel he is sitting there speaking to you himself. The settings are detailed, the characters fully fleshed out, and the author grabs your heart and your interest with his very words and does not let you go until even after the last page has been read. It is the first of a Trilogy, the second book is A Wise Man's Fear...it took him forever to finish...because like The Name of the Wind, he wanted every word to be perfect for his readers....and they are.

Well, I love various types of books. Being an avid bookworm myself. One in particular is called Ritual of Proof by Dara Joy. It's a book for older, and more mature readers. The story is based on the context that women are considered the "dominant" race. Men can be sold off for the highest "bed price", and there are many fantasy-like elements incorporated.
I love how you got a mix of everything: suspense, drama, action, romance, and fantasy in one nice package. There were event political notions thrown in. I felt they handled even the more adult-oriented scenes very maturely (and detailed enough to make one blush profusely). Even though it had intimate moments, it wasn't focused 24/7 on it. You could really feel for the characters. I really hope you try and give this book a read. I was pleasantly surprised when I picked it up. <3

Crookedstar's Promise for the warriors series.
As much as it was sad, it had it's moments of triumph, and joy. Overall, the emotion and literature was so great and beautiful. Plus, there was a lot of adventure too.

The Price of Tides by Pat Conroy. I've read great, entertaining books before, but Pat Conroy really has a gift for language. This is, by far, the best written book I've ever read. Even if you aren't 'into' the beauty of the written word, you really can see that this guy has a special gift. As for this particular book of his: the story is interesting, it keeps you guessing and events are described in perfect detail.

My favorite book is The Broken Connection by Robert Jay Lifton. It's a stunning analysis of the continuity of life in death and beyond and the 'human condition' that has opened my eyes to many things I had not noticed before. It's a MAGNIFICENT read, touching down on wars, genocides, the Trinity Project and then some; all things that make us very human, and things that still live on even after all is done and over with.
You can read some of it online, to my knowledge, and it's up for purchase on Amazon. I bought my book for 90 dollars, but I believe there are some 20 dollar copies floating around now.

My favorite book was May bird :]
I love it because its about a girl going to the after life but she's still alive and trying to get home but she has to go on a journey through the whole after life and try not to get caught, and all through the last book she finally gets home and misses her friends in the after life that helped her through her journeys
