Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!

Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?

The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.

Ooh, but wait! There's more!

Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).

Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!

Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!

Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!

Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!

Just smell those new pages!

I think I'd have to say that Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut is my favorite book. Slaughterhouse-Five is great, and so is Mother Night and Breakfast of Champions, but... Cat's Cradle is a really brilliant and subtle mixture of reflections on human relationships and truly original science fiction. Plus, it has one of the most (I think, anyway) compassionate fictional philosophies writte into it. It's funny, a bit quirky, very reflective at times, and definitely worth a read. :) -Kiwi

Digital Fortress by Dan Brown. It's only THE best sci-fi techno-thriller ever. <3

Ahhhh, wow it's hard to pick one. I suppose I'll say 'Arthas: Rise of the Lich King' by Christie Golden. I tend to love Warcraft novels in general, but anything by Golden is especially wonderful, and I love seeing the transformation of one of my all-time favorite characters from any series ever from an innocent child to a beacon of life to a god of death (I'd apologize for spoilers but it's pretty much in the title xP). It's great seeing what changes-- and what, all things considered, doesn't really change at all; and the humor is just fantastic. (Lich King, more like Snark King. x'3) It is wonderful. ('The Shattering: Prelude to Cataclysm' and 'Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War', both also by Golden, are also fantastic, but probably not as easy to jump straight into as RotLK if someone isn't already a WoW fan. :B RotLK is a fairly good introduction to the world since it spans a long timeframe and covers a lot of major backstory events, heh.)

'Infinity' by Ellen Curtis and Matthew Ledrew - and it's sequel 'The Tourniquet Reprisal' - are both amazing! ^_^ I can't say too much without spoiling - but there's people with various powers, and a big underground cover-up, and a sort of school/home for them and they're part of a spy group - I'm not making it sound too good, but I swear they're fantastic. A little slow to start, but worth it.

My favourite book is Game of Thrones; A Song of Ice and Fire. I've only read the first book in the series so far, and I know for sure that I will be reading the other ones too. I love that the plot is so unique, that the story is being told from different views, and I just adore the medievale setting. Really worth reading, I'm in love. <:

I read the book 13 Reasons Why, quite a few time. I truly love it, because it's not a typical story. I've never read anything like it, and there is a great twist in it!

The Giver by Lois Lowry has been my favorite book since 7th grade when we had to read it as a class. I read it five times in two weeks and every single time I loved it even more because I found new things that was so interesting. The ending was fascinating, and how thought out everything was... And the idea of a shot of poison as a way to "leave."

Tamsin by Peter S. Beagle is my absolute favorite book. Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson is a close runner up though C:

Favorite book?! But there's so many! ;A; y u do this to me? hmmmmmm....I mean, obviously Harry Potter is one of my all time favorites, but I also enjoyed reading Watership Down....but I have to say that as of this moment my FAVORITE book is Escape From Camp 14. It's a biography of a man named Shin Donghyuk, a North Korean born in Camp 14 (one of the worst concentration camps/labor camps in NK) and his life and eventual escape from the camp. It's horrifying to read at parts, almost like you're reading a dystopian fiction novel, but you're not because this place is real and his experiences are real as well. It's a very compelling read, and rather shocking to learn about as a person who has lived a life of comfort and love. But that may be why I like it, it wakes me up again and makes me want to do something to help. But WOW this response is really long I'm sorry OTL
