Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!

Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?

The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.

Ooh, but wait! There's more!

Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).

Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!

Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!

Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!

Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!

Just smell those new pages!

I can't possible just name one favourite book or book serious, but something that a lot of Aywas players probably would enjoy is the Firebringer trilogy by Meredith Ann Pierce.
It has lots of fierce unicorns. ;)

I would suggest Acheron by Sherilyn Kenyon. The book is amazing, being the only one that I will read again multiple times. It is about a boy that was born to gods, but raised by humans due to circumstances explained in the book. He is raised by a royal family, but they torture him, even selling him as a sex slave. They can't kill him though. During all of this, his sister tries to help him and he kindles a romance with Artemis. Due to more circumstances, his powers unlock and you see his life as a god. Half of the book takes place in modern time as well where he falls in love and deals with demons, shapeshifters, gods, and more. It had an entire series that expands to almost all the characters in this mystic world and is well written. The history is amazingly accurate and mature but reads smoothly. Also, even though it reads seperately, you can continue in that world and enter locking plots with the dark hunter series.

My favorite book would have to be White Fang by Jack London. There is just something about the perservence and the will to live by white fang that sends me back time and time again to read it.

I don't have a particularly favorite book, but I enjoyed reading "Ender's Game" by Orson Scott Card. "Ender's Game" possesses the typical meaning of a book - a story - but it also contains an interesting psychological analysis as the reader watches a 7-year-old boy become the hero of the earth by exterminating an entire race.

I also enjoyed reading "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss - the story of a young boy who is orphaned by demon-like people and wishes to become a magician. This boy eventually grows to become one of the most famous people of the land, but his journey is long and hard. I like this book because it seems that the author knows a thing or two about human nature.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams is a book containing both comedy and fact. I have yet to read this. =)

I generally like reading books which teach me about human nature, and the first two books listed above have done that to a certain extent.

My favorite book is Rumo, by Walter Moers. It is about adventure and basically the story of a made up creature in a land filled with personified animals and just crazy made up things. Walter Moers is a fantastic author, and really anything by him is amazing. I really recommend this book, it is so lighthearted and fun, but it is very long (500-ish pages) so be prepared to not go anywhere or put the book down for a few days lol xD

The Gunslinger by Stephen King. It is a short story, but it has wonderful characters one can feel attached to almost instantly, a feel of the west, as well as magic thrown in. Plus, if one is familiar with his works, there is many a nod to them that seem to tie everything in together nicely.

Awesome item!
My favourite book is Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick, the first of four novels in the Hush Hush saga because I love the plot she uses as I find it to be creative and clever. I also love her characters which are all very different and unique and realistic as they all have their faults which they can try to overcome. Plus I'm a sucker for fantasy romance. ;)
