Policy Change Poll

Pets

Currently, the on-site policy regarding mistakes is that:

If the administration or programmers cannot reproduce a "glitch" that irreversibly changed your pet, you will not get it back, unless it's a custom.

Currently, people who buy GP are arguing that if they paid GP to buy their pet, like a Monthly or a Special Edition, and make a mistake with a potion (for example), they should get the pet back because it was bought with real money.

This would work like this: if you have donated and bought the pet through the GP store, you have the right to have your pet changed back if something happens to it by user mistake (NOT glitch, glitches are always refunded). If you didn't, you don't.

So, the user who gains a Monthly Pet/Super Rare/Limited through Rogue, Hippie Mushroom, Glittering Rock, Eggs, the Wild, etc and accidentally change it are SOL because it wasn't bought through the GP Shop.

My stance against this is, in essence, I don't want to discriminate between the user who earns their rare pet through site means to the user who buys their pet in the GP shop. So they both get the same response: "Sorry, user error, not a glitch."

But I'm willing to change the policy to make special conditions for users whose pets they accidentally messed up, if they bought them through the GP Shop--if that's what the majority thinks is fair and right.

Policy Change?
Yes, if the pet is bought through the GP shop, user mistakes that change that pet should be refunded
No, all treatment should be equal (and for god's sake, put up a confirmation page!)
I am ambivalent to this policy.

Suppose a user bought a hippie mushroom through the GP shop and used it and got a rare pet. Would that pet be refunded too if it was changed on accident? since they paid GP for the mushroom... I think it sounds fair in my opinion- I mean most rare pets not bought through the GP shop could be easily obtained back... however Slash- what about Gen 2 pets? they could count almost as important as customs- seeing as most people buy their coins from the GP shop(at least I think they do). I personally think all 'custom' pets and 'monthly' pets should have a different system to use a potion on. Like you have to go to their lookup and click 'morph pet' somewhere and then from a drop down-list select what you want to use on them and click 'go' with a pop-up message saying "are you sure?".

I think that the confirmation page would be the best idea. Even if it is by a mistake you should make sure you are doing the correct pet.

My opinion: Make a confirmation page. Don't refund anyone.

Okay maybe a little harsh but a confirmation page would solve it.

I like Pika's idea. Keep in mind that many voters are probably not spending money in the GP shop. I think that if you spend money for something as easy to fix as that, you should be able to have it fixed.

Yes, I think they should be fixed if bought from the cash shop. Although users need to realize that Aywas and its layout doesn't work the same as all other pet sites and that staff can't be running around fixing all their mistakes when they have a site to develop. The players need to be more careful. However, Aywas' cash shop is a little on the expensive side compared to some others, and dedicating a few minutes to take care of something like that seems like a small price to pay to keep the people supporting the site content (although I don't think you should be jumping through any hoops). I think it would be especially frustrating if you assume that it probably took most people over or close to an hour's pay to buy that ten dollar pet. I think we definitely need a confirmation page, at least. Preferably one that showed the image of your active pet. (For example: "Are you sure you want to use a Gender Potion on Kazuko? -image of Oceandark Melo-")

Well the problem with online games and other applications is that a member does not actually own the property that they pay for. In my opinion that is just a clever way to scam people out of money. With that being said, yes I do spend too much time on and in an environment that is definitely not mentally healthy for any given person.

Actually, in Neo, it gives you a drop-down to pick which pet to feed an item to. You can use any items on any of the four pets on that account. An active pet is really only subjected to random events but items can be used on any pet active or not which is why I have been a little shaken when using items here. I haven't messed up yet though because I'm extra careful.

So if it's a custom, even if it's not paid for with GP we *can* get it back? I think like with Rogue's shop there should be a 'are you sure you want to do this' with any item or thing that can change a pet. Maybe even have a picture of the pet over top the 'are you sure' like on Neopets? That would make me feel a LOT safer. lol*
