Policy Change Poll

Pets

Currently, the on-site policy regarding mistakes is that:

If the administration or programmers cannot reproduce a "glitch" that irreversibly changed your pet, you will not get it back, unless it's a custom.

Currently, people who buy GP are arguing that if they paid GP to buy their pet, like a Monthly or a Special Edition, and make a mistake with a potion (for example), they should get the pet back because it was bought with real money.

This would work like this: if you have donated and bought the pet through the GP store, you have the right to have your pet changed back if something happens to it by user mistake (NOT glitch, glitches are always refunded). If you didn't, you don't.

So, the user who gains a Monthly Pet/Super Rare/Limited through Rogue, Hippie Mushroom, Glittering Rock, Eggs, the Wild, etc and accidentally change it are SOL because it wasn't bought through the GP Shop.

My stance against this is, in essence, I don't want to discriminate between the user who earns their rare pet through site means to the user who buys their pet in the GP shop. So they both get the same response: "Sorry, user error, not a glitch."

But I'm willing to change the policy to make special conditions for users whose pets they accidentally messed up, if they bought them through the GP Shop--if that's what the majority thinks is fair and right.

Policy Change?
Yes, if the pet is bought through the GP shop, user mistakes that change that pet should be refunded
No, all treatment should be equal (and for god's sake, put up a confirmation page!)
I am ambivalent to this policy.

A confirmation page would be spiffy.

But I think GP pets should be be allowed to change back cause... it was real money.
But I think there should be a 'we will only do this for you once, moron' clause.

I like this rule. It's fair. Besides, GP pets aren't that special unless you are SRSLY lusting a certain one c:

Ignoring the fact that ambivalent makes me think of English class, why not just create an option that allows users to keep their pet PERMANENTLY what it is. So you hit a button and *Poof* your Vampire Melo is forever a vampire melo, and nothing is going to change that :P
Either that or include a check box that can be checked if you don't want anything to happen to the aywa, and you have to uncheck it (along with warning message? xD) before proceeding to do anything that would irreversably change it.
That made sense? I have no clue @-@

Yeah... This is why I'm never buying another pet with GP again.

Why the heck did that post twice?! *erases second comment*

Okay, see, the problem with that is -- other people have had that problem. And they weren't refunded. It isn't feasible to refund people who make the mistake until the confirmation page is coded because all those previous records throughout the month aren't saved.

Well in that case I just say no then. =P It might seem unfair to the individual, but as you say unless you can do it for everyone it wouldn't be fair anyway. And in the end it was their fault.

I sort of agree with what someone was saying earlier. If you could, perhaps, code it to where it would display the pet that the item is being used on, that would make things easier. I like how some of the items say (and I haven't paid attention to it before, so forgive me if this is new) that it will change your ACTIVE pet into ____. Still. Images are good. Having an image right there in their face would make it idiot-proof. They can't say "Well, I didn't see which pet it was I had active" that way.

I'd have to say no then. But maybe to compensate, send out a glittering rock to everyone (since you don't know whose who) and let the users get their chosen pet back via that glittering rock?

Just a thought.

I like the idea of free glittering rocks for all. :D

Free glittering rocks for all won't happen :P
