Vote on Breeding Decision

Site Update

Hi guys, the Breeding Department and I have a proposition for you to vote on.

Are you in favor of eliminating old x new lineart support for the LBC/HLBC in exchange for expanding alternate pet linearts?

What does this mean? Let's break it down...

###

Cons

- You would no longer be able to submit an old x new lineart breeding via LBC or HLBC unless you are using your own predicts

- You would not be able to submit an alternate x other lineart breeding of a same pet genus via LBC or HLBC (which we currently do not allow, anyway)

Pros

- We would be able to offer you alternate linearts for Aywas pet genuses that you could make customs from without harming the Breeding department's wait time, giving you a wider range of poses

- The breeding department would become healthier and faster as LBC and HLBC requests between two different lineart pets would not require the attention of site hybrid artists

- Price ceiling on old x new predicts would be eliminated so you or your artists could charge whatever desired for your different lineart but same genus predicts. (note that price ceiling on other predicts would still be in effect)

###

If this action were to pass, breedings already in the queue would not be affected by the new action. The action would apply to breedings that are submitted from its approval and out.

Approval rate needs to meet 70% "Yes" to be approved.

I'm fine with it, I have no problems breeding old to old or just updating lineart to newer version if it's too much of a hassle.

So . . . question . . . as far as alt. lines go . . . would old lines for a lot of the species (i.e., reve, phanto, soli, melo) be considered 'alt lines' under the new ruling? So would we be able to submit customs of them as alt. lines after the line art changeover is complete for each species? If that were the case, I would be much more excited about this idea. I still, personally, strongly dislike the new melo lines and will probably quit making melo customs after the changeover is complete. However, if the old lines were then considered 'alt lines' and, therefore, allow me to continue to make new customs on them, that would make me a happy panda. - Dana

cat_prints.. the percentage can change as more people vote o.O It probably won't change drastically, but if another 1,000 people voted no... the percentages would change immensely.

I just sent In two pets to be bred.
It would be amazing If the babies came In earlier than what I've heard they should. 8u

No way!! I just got my LBP, and have lots of old line art Melos that will be staying (or re-converted to old line art as soon as they are done)- I want the availability for being able to breed old line art to new without predicts.

I agree with Hiiro 100% on the big fat NO I get when I read this. Not everyone is artists, and not everyone can shell out extra money all the time to buy something they don't even want. I LIKE site breeding because I enjoy the surprise of what I get, and doing predictions sort of ruins that for me, not to mention that the % of user base who are not artistically inclined would -always- have to pay more $ for the breedings than someone who can make predictions. As it is now, even those with no talent can still enjoy the breeding aspect of the game and I just feel like this will take away a lot of that enjoyment.

ok I have to agree with some of the others around here. I know I'm gonna sound a bit selfish, but I have to say that I can't get the GP for BCs and don't even know where HBCs came from cause I've never seen one just a HLBC. I have submitted 3 breeds and only three in the time I have been here and those were one HLBC and one MBC because I could actually afford those with quite a bit of saving. I am no artist and all my customs were made by other people for me. My first one was one that Chaos (#373) made for me and I love it to bits and I've never been able to breed it because I could never get GP for a LBC (none of which I have received despite them being submitted months ago). I managed to submit one with it though a HLBC and I would love to do more. If I could get it onto a new lineart I might do that, but I just don't like the new art nearly as much and while it might sound a bit stupid I don't /want/ it redrawn it was a give from a friend. I do hate that it is more work for the artists and it would make me feel bad to not agree to this just to lighten their load so I'll probably vote yes just for that reason, but I won't be too happy. I just can't afford to get GP which is apparently what these artists charge. It is hard enough for me to earn BP must less get enough to get some GP. I also have to agree with some of the others I don't want more alt linearts we have plenty as it is especially when you keep adding new species with the raw crystal introductions. I guess my point mainly is I agree with the others this really does sound like I raw deal on both sides. It sucks for the artists if we say no, but it can seriously suck for us if we say yes. Meh Yes it is I suppose and I just won't breed my Old Art Insi other the the one already submitted cause it's gonna take me long enough to save up for the two BCs I want must less more for breeding that Insi.
