Vote on Breeding Decision

Site Update

Hi guys, the Breeding Department and I have a proposition for you to vote on.

Are you in favor of eliminating old x new lineart support for the LBC/HLBC in exchange for expanding alternate pet linearts?

What does this mean? Let's break it down...

###

Cons

- You would no longer be able to submit an old x new lineart breeding via LBC or HLBC unless you are using your own predicts

- You would not be able to submit an alternate x other lineart breeding of a same pet genus via LBC or HLBC (which we currently do not allow, anyway)

Pros

- We would be able to offer you alternate linearts for Aywas pet genuses that you could make customs from without harming the Breeding department's wait time, giving you a wider range of poses

- The breeding department would become healthier and faster as LBC and HLBC requests between two different lineart pets would not require the attention of site hybrid artists

- Price ceiling on old x new predicts would be eliminated so you or your artists could charge whatever desired for your different lineart but same genus predicts. (note that price ceiling on other predicts would still be in effect)

###

If this action were to pass, breedings already in the queue would not be affected by the new action. The action would apply to breedings that are submitted from its approval and out.

Approval rate needs to meet 70% "Yes" to be approved.

I don't understand the purpose of alternate line-art. You can't breed them except to make hybrids and none of the line-art would be carried over to the offspring anyway.

I also do not like that you will not be able to breed old x new line-art with an LBC. It already costs me roughly $23 for an LBC and then I have to pay an additional fee (also purchased with $USD) to an artist to get babies? No thank you.

I guess I will just be using my own predicts for some, no big deal!

I dont breed very much since it's so expensive, but I think the system could use some more speed. I like alt linearts. (: They are fun to mess with. Now the question is....HOW MANY alt linearts per genus? Seriously I think that should be limited so you dont have an insane number of linearts floating around and as some have noted, diluting the breeding pool. There are a lot of different pets on the site as it is and continually expanding. Other than that, I like this. ^^

I think this is a fair trade-off, so I'm voting yes. :3

Old x New breedings would still be obtainable through HBCs, just not through LBC / HLBC am I right? If so I am in full support of this, especially if it means the Nikko gets alternative lines (the original sketch concept by Wisp!)

I...can't believe this is so popular, actually. I'm all for speeding up breedings, don't get me wrong, but predicts are 'spensive and, as others have said, the surprise is a large part of the appeal for me. I don't breed much, though, so I'll live. Oh well. :P

One reason I've never considered doing predict orders is because of the price ceiling - it's just not worth my time, when premades go for as much or more with less work.

Definitely in favour of having no-ceiling predicts for old x new.

@BlackCat - you'd still be able to get Old x New breedings with a BC or HBC, just have to supply your own predicts.

Tips for writing a poll:

-Unbiased terminology (avoid "better" "greater" or other "-er" words)
-Equal number of pros and cons
-Explain in terms that all who participate in the poll will understand

What is this price ceiling and price floor stuff about? And how does it affect us as consumers?
