Vote on Breeding Decision

Site Update

Hi guys, the Breeding Department and I have a proposition for you to vote on.

Are you in favor of eliminating old x new lineart support for the LBC/HLBC in exchange for expanding alternate pet linearts?

What does this mean? Let's break it down...

###

Cons

- You would no longer be able to submit an old x new lineart breeding via LBC or HLBC unless you are using your own predicts

- You would not be able to submit an alternate x other lineart breeding of a same pet genus via LBC or HLBC (which we currently do not allow, anyway)

Pros

- We would be able to offer you alternate linearts for Aywas pet genuses that you could make customs from without harming the Breeding department's wait time, giving you a wider range of poses

- The breeding department would become healthier and faster as LBC and HLBC requests between two different lineart pets would not require the attention of site hybrid artists

- Price ceiling on old x new predicts would be eliminated so you or your artists could charge whatever desired for your different lineart but same genus predicts. (note that price ceiling on other predicts would still be in effect)

###

If this action were to pass, breedings already in the queue would not be affected by the new action. The action would apply to breedings that are submitted from its approval and out.

Approval rate needs to meet 70% "Yes" to be approved.

I have a ton of old/new pairings. I vote no.

I think one thing I don't understand is having more pet alts. I don't see why you would want an alt of a pet genus, if you couldn't breed it to your old customs XD

That and I would totally rather see more pet genus's than more alts XD But thats just me.

Well...you could. You'd just have to make your own predicts, or get someone else to make them.

True...but I love seeing what the site artists come up with XD

@ Ahn Woon - Pets with edits can be and are handled by the LBC team, so even if the alt linearts were edited they'd still end up with them, instead of taking up the time of members of the BC team.

I absolutely adore this idea, and would love to see it come into fruition, especially if their were alt linearts in more dynamic poses (melos, oskes, etc.) or easier to edit poses (drylis, insis, lacers). However, I see an addition con that can easily drive Skitty batty. There's going to be even more things for her to judge. I suppose another mod or admin could be taught how to judge the linearts to help her out though.

Aside from that, I think I'd like to see this happen. And hopefully all of the LBC breedings where the edits of the parents can't be passed on because the offspring are new lines and their psds were never sent in would phase out (you would not believe how many I've noticed so far), which would help with a lot of time spent on LBC breeders' behalves.

I'd be fine with eliminating old x new except for predicts. I don't particularly want more alt lines though. I agree with Toki that more alt lines will further dilute the breeding pools for the less popular genuses.

I vote yes - less work for breeding artists is fantastic, those who want to breed old/new can still make predicts, and new linearts are always exciting.

The one thing I can say is I don't think THAT many alt linearts should be released, and that the ones that are released should be approved by the users first. It would be a big waste to make a bunch of new lines if no one is going to use them.

Oh, I think I misread this. :-S My B. So this is just against breeding old and new linearts (to make edits easier), not getting rid of old linearts?

I really support this idea. It sounds like the perfect solution to a lot of different problems. I think it would be beneficial if users thought twice before submitting new x old breedings anyways because it really does slow the breeding system down. Plus, it can still be done, but not at the expense of inhibiting the waiting line - so I really see no faults to this. It sounds like you really thought this through! Besides, this is a custom pet site so the more options we have for creating pets, the better. ;)

Hard enough to get predicts at a decent price and decent quality on here, it's way too much in demand. Vote no. :C
