Hi guys, the Breeding Department and I have a proposition for you to vote on.
Are you in favor of eliminating old x new lineart support for the LBC/HLBC in exchange for expanding alternate pet linearts?
What does this mean? Let's break it down...
Cons
- You would no longer be able to submit an old x new lineart breeding via LBC or HLBC unless you are using your own predicts
- You would not be able to submit an alternate x other lineart breeding of a same pet genus via LBC or HLBC (which we currently do not allow, anyway)
Pros
- We would be able to offer you alternate linearts for Aywas pet genuses that you could make customs from without harming the Breeding department's wait time, giving you a wider range of poses
- The breeding department would become healthier and faster as LBC and HLBC requests between two different lineart pets would not require the attention of site hybrid artists
- Price ceiling on old x new predicts would be eliminated so you or your artists could charge whatever desired for your different lineart but same genus predicts. (note that price ceiling on other predicts would still be in effect)
If this action were to pass, breedings already in the queue would not be affected by the new action. The action would apply to breedings that are submitted from its approval and out.
Approval rate needs to meet 70% "Yes" to be approved.

Losing the ability to breed alternate genus linearts...to GET more alternate genus linearts (that won't be able to breed with others) sounds really freaking stupid to me. Not to be a jerk, but why would anyone in their right mind want more line-art options if we're taking away the ability to breed alternate line-arts.
Really. Seriously. Am I the only person here seeing that aspect of it?

I'm sure people have figured this out by now, but the alt lineart would just be to give people more choices with each breed. HOWEVER, those alt lineart pets would ONLY be able to breed with others of the SAME LINEART, not the same species. This speeds up the breeding queue because the artists would not have to breed old x new OR alt lineart x normal lineart. The only thing they'd have to worry about is ANY SAME LINEART x ANY SAME LINEART unless you are breeding a HYBRID... HYBRIDS have their own set of artists who are specifically good at redrawing edits on a different base.

@whoever it was who said the poll should be reset because people are confused/don't know what they're voting for - If you don't know what you're voting for then DON'T VOTE, rather than picking something that you don't understand and then complaining about it later.

Bri: I disagree with your ceiling notin, keep in mind this is a site where many users can charge 35 + gp and people still happily pay for simple bcc customs. So the idea that "if they charge too much they won't sell" doesn't work- not if the artist doesn't mind waiting for rich users. and why should users pay extra for a dawn crystal, updated new art for their custom and/or paying for predicts just because they'd rather see the result from the site artists. so I apologize if that seems silly, but thats how I see it, and I dont think alt line art is worth it. Also it says this doesn't apply to breeding already in queue, so this won't really begin to affect breeding until after 1-2 months. Just my opinion.

Well, I can't afford to breed my pets much and I'm not so good with digital art so customs and predicts are out of my reach. So... I guess I won't vote. Haha.

....Do you guys not realize that even WITH the price ceiling, it's hard to get your predicts sold for more than 1gp a piece? xD If artists are charging ridiculous prices for their predicts, NOBODY is going to pay for them, and the prices will go down. I think it's silly to sit there and focus on the lack of price ceiling in your decision.
At any rate, if breeding your oldxnew lined pets THROUGH the system is oh-so important, either get a dawn crystal and make one of them change linearts, or just pay for predicts.
I personally want more alt-lined pets because I dont like many of the current linearts, and an alt-lineart pet can change my entire feeling about disliking a species. Plus it's always fun to see new re-draws of species. :D
not to mention, this really will speed up the HBC breedings, and it's a better option in my own opinion.
And to clarify, breeding together your oldxold and newxnew and altxalt will NOT have you come out with pets on a different lineart, so if your pets are mostly old, or new, or alt. lineart then there will be no problem with breeding your own pets together.
