The Melo is the only remaining pet from the old art. The art itself is three years old, and has many proportion flaws.
An update would consist of:
- all new colorations occurring on the new melo base
- old lineart can be submitted for two months past the revamp completion without requiring Dawn Crystal
- existing customs have a 6-month period to convert to the new base for free
- old and new can breed together fine with LBC, where old x old = old, but old x new = new, as with all other revamps we've done
A revamp would take 1-3 months for us to complete as it is. Above is the sketch we have for our redraw melo. It is trying to be as close to the original melo proportion-wise as possible, while trying to fix some of the glaring errors on the original.
After that comes the lineart, then we start recoloring all the old colorations onto the new lineart. (: There are two ways we can go forward from here.
So, yeah. What do you want?
BTW, you can redline the sketch if you want.

On another note.. I had to do the full thing or else I couldn't get it to work for me, thus Ignore my art style, or at least the part of my art style that I have not butchered.

The only redlines I like so far Caligula's (sp?) Youko's and part of gods. If we can get a good redline in I'm all for the change

That's actually pretty cute. I really dreaded a revamp when I saw the board asking if there should be one, but I'm not too terrified of it now. XD The face bothers me somewhat however, and I think the ears should be more like the old melo (as a lot of other people have posted). My biggest problem is in the mouth, the only redline I've seen that I've liked for that is the one Quetzalcoatl posted however.

I love the redline that Quet's friend did. It's pretty different, but it fixes anatomical errors in the revamp sketch(such as the floating front paws...well, the paws+legs all together. And deals with the face, which is majorly messed up in the sketch). So, yeah, not voting yet. I like the rules set forth for this(adequate time for changing, similar pose, fixing past anatomy errors, and the ability to breed via LBC between the old lineart and the new)but without a different sketch, I can't say it's go time. XD Cus this sketch, as is, seems worse to me than the old melo lineart. ~Darsh

I like this a lot better. Its more rounded and cute. I do agree that the face looks a bit too squished and I plead, please give this one some pupils.

I'm agreeing with the others in that this sketch fixes the old anatomy issues only to replace them with new ones. I'm not against a revamp per se, but I'd like to see a nicely done replacement.

I don't see the point in revamping such a large species with a pose that is extremely similar to the old one. The only difference is it's become more chibi-like. I do agree there needs to be a revamp, however just not this one >.>
