The Melo is the only remaining pet from the old art. The art itself is three years old, and has many proportion flaws.
An update would consist of:
- all new colorations occurring on the new melo base
- old lineart can be submitted for two months past the revamp completion without requiring Dawn Crystal
- existing customs have a 6-month period to convert to the new base for free
- old and new can breed together fine with LBC, where old x old = old, but old x new = new, as with all other revamps we've done
A revamp would take 1-3 months for us to complete as it is. Above is the sketch we have for our redraw melo. It is trying to be as close to the original melo proportion-wise as possible, while trying to fix some of the glaring errors on the original.
After that comes the lineart, then we start recoloring all the old colorations onto the new lineart. (: There are two ways we can go forward from here.
So, yeah. What do you want?
BTW, you can redline the sketch if you want.

Kyu: Well, I tried to move the face to the left a little more, as well as a little taller and more narrow, but yeh, its just a simple mouse sketch, and probably some mistakes in the proportions. xD
But red/blue lines are more suggestions and shouldn't be taken as having 100% accurate anatomy. xP

It looks adorable. I like the new ears and face. It might be fun to see some other alternative poses to choose from, though.

It looks a bit squished to me all around, squished down, like the legs are too short and the neck is too short.

Inu: I meant more along the lines of: I couldn't make out the differences because the red lines were distracting me. I think I like the edits you suggested, though. - Kyu

I like Inu's "blue"line as well. The anatomy is much better on it, and the face doesn't annoy me any longer. xD

I definitely like the ears better on this one, and how the chest doesn't look quite so... pointy. xD;; But... when the pose looks so similar to the current Melo, I have to ask- why bother? I assume things like the paws and... that really skinny neck would be sorted out before the final version of this, but... all those new linearts of pets aren't mirroring the old art, I'd find it kinda lame if the Melo didn't get even a slight change in pose. =/ Not voting 'cause... I want a Melo revamp, but not this.

Here's a redline from me! Liking this new sketch better than the current melo, but I think it's still too head-heavy. Also, no offense, but I think a couple of the other people who redlined the melo are kind of... missing the point of the species a little. @_@

The face bugs me a lot.. it looks squished and the paws look really flat :s
