The Melo is the only remaining pet from the old art. The art itself is three years old, and has many proportion flaws.
An update would consist of:
- all new colorations occurring on the new melo base
- old lineart can be submitted for two months past the revamp completion without requiring Dawn Crystal
- existing customs have a 6-month period to convert to the new base for free
- old and new can breed together fine with LBC, where old x old = old, but old x new = new, as with all other revamps we've done
A revamp would take 1-3 months for us to complete as it is. Above is the sketch we have for our redraw melo. It is trying to be as close to the original melo proportion-wise as possible, while trying to fix some of the glaring errors on the original.
After that comes the lineart, then we start recoloring all the old colorations onto the new lineart. (: There are two ways we can go forward from here.
So, yeah. What do you want?
BTW, you can redline the sketch if you want.

I like it in general, but the paws...bother me, and the head is WAY too big. xD Save Aywas from faceplanting Melos!!

DAMN IT. None of the redraws ever look as good. /None./ I hate it when things get fixed when they aren't broken! T.T I can't stand to look at my old Insis and Phantos, because they look like the egg was incubated in a keg of whiskey.
Stop being subeta. T.T I always always always hate their redraws. And thus far, I've hated every redraw on here too.
Can we PLEASE apply to keep the old line art on our pets WITHOUT having to pay to do so?
The pets all look too toddler-friendly. Like this whole website should be on Nick Jr. or something. It's kind of sucky when a /Neopet/ looks more threatening than a Phanto. And the Melo already looks great, so don't ruin it. Pleeeeease?

Paws look too crowded >_> It'd be nice to see them simpler.

I voted for a revamp. The site looks more together with it's art styles consistent across species. A few crits on the sketch though... 1. The forelegs aren't long enough. 2. The eye on our right looks...messed, lol. 3. The ears replicate the old style well, but look kind of off. Almost not like they're ears or something. Idk, something about them is weird. I was thinking of doing a redline over, but since it's just a sketch the flaws will probably be worked out before anything final. The rest looks pretty good to me.

I think the problem is it looks too much like it's been reverted back to a baby, and not the cute kind. It looks too small a pudgey and the ears are just weird, but this IS a scetch so I'd like to see something more before I get all emo and ranting about this.
