The Melo is the only remaining pet from the old art. The art itself is three years old, and has many proportion flaws.
An update would consist of:
- all new colorations occurring on the new melo base
- old lineart can be submitted for two months past the revamp completion without requiring Dawn Crystal
- existing customs have a 6-month period to convert to the new base for free
- old and new can breed together fine with LBC, where old x old = old, but old x new = new, as with all other revamps we've done
A revamp would take 1-3 months for us to complete as it is. Above is the sketch we have for our redraw melo. It is trying to be as close to the original melo proportion-wise as possible, while trying to fix some of the glaring errors on the original.
After that comes the lineart, then we start recoloring all the old colorations onto the new lineart. (: There are two ways we can go forward from here.
So, yeah. What do you want?
BTW, you can redline the sketch if you want.

Gonna havta agree with what's been said about clearing up the old anatomy issues only to usher in new ones. :c At least this sketch gives a launching point, it can always be improved on. c: On the other hand.
Imay's redline has done some goodstuff for the head/face, neck, and chest in my opinion. Took away the squashed factor.

So my over-line may not be as good as some others, but...it addresses the HUGE EFFING BOBBLEHEAD issue going on, and a coupla others. I really think that if the melos are to be ravaged into something new...what the masses are saying needs to be held in high regard.
I didn't like the Insi redo at all. Please don't make me despise the melo the way I do it. :/

Youko did this. It's on a board about the revamp.
I approve of this as a revamp much more than anything else I've seen. if it does have to happen, I hope this is what's used.

I have no problems with a revamp....But this revamp definitely has some kinks it needs worked out. A lot of the red-lines seem to hit the main problems on the nail - I think if enough of the similar suggestions were taken to heart, this would probably receive a better reception.
Head size - it is over 9000 D:

Oooh, I like that mashup, except that one back leg still looks a little off. Now it seems more... square in shape than I think it should be. But, everything else is lovely. The face. <3

Orc - Yeah, the feet on mine have issues - but they are more like beast feet than the new sketch, even if I spent only 5 minutes on it. :3

Imay's redline is the only one I like, and I despise everyone who said the Melo needed to be changed.
This sketch that's been produced is just.. disgusting to me. And the fact that we have over 20 pages of Melos already would be havoc for site artists to redo every one of them. I hate hate hate this redo with a fiery passion comparable to the depths of hell, and unless something worthy is produced i the very near future, I can see myself not bothering with this site anymore.
Solis were ruined for me, they became too "cutesy", and I'd hate to see these changed, at least like this.
/is hormonal and doesn't want this at all.
