Teo Eggs

Site Update

We've finally figured out what we want to do with Teo Eggs! Like we said before, we decided that a random event was going to determine the owners of Teo Eggs (as opposed to breeding and adoption center stalking, as then everyone could have a chance).

To prevent people from auto-refreshing or cheating to get Teos, which was our main issue with them being a pure chance random event considering it'd cause a lot of lag, we decided that one teo egg will be given out by the site at 6:00 PM every day. All you have to do is be online at that time and the script could randomly choose you to send the Teo Egg event to.

Good luck! There are sixty five Teo sitting in the queue right now so a new one will go out at 6:00 PM for quite a while, and we'll restock them as needed.

That is in the middle of the night for me. I would have liked to see an even spread of drops over all timezines to give everyone a fair chance, but I suppose this is yet another U.S. perk. Shame, really.

It would be nice to have scattered timezones- I mean- maybe Mondays eggs be at x time, Tuesdays at Y, Wednesdays at A, thursdays at Z...

I do adore this idea however XD

Aside from what everyone else has said, I'd like to echo another question asked earlier (sorry, forgot who asked >.<) and that is basically: what does "being online at 6pm" mean? Some of us are set to appear permanently online. Does that mean we're online at 6pm even if we're not active, have our PCs shut down etc? Or is having the PC on, with a tab open on aywas all night - for those of us in Europe - mean, we'll still count as online, even if not active for hours? It's a bit of a mystery I'd like cleared up ^.^

IMO, Chaos (supported by others) had the best idea: pick at 6pm anyone who has been online since 6pm the previous day - i.e. in the past 24 hours. Like others have said, it's been done before, so coding shouldn't be that hard and it'd be the fairest to everyone, IMO.

I think the time for the egg drop should be varied, since for example for me, living in Tokyo, it would be very hard to be online on Aywas at 6 PM site time. And I think that applies for a lot of other users, too.

I would like to support the idea that has been by other users before me - Kayana (#19032) - and more I might have missed, to give a Teo egg to a random user that was online in the last 24 hours.

I would like to modify that in one way: that is, not someone who was just online - as there is the option to stay logged in - but someone who was ACTIVE during the last 24 hours. That is, doing something, even if it's just collecting the daily things. Or sending a PM to someone or commenting on a profile, or just something, whatever. But not just eternally logged.

Now having said that, I also think that it might be a good idea to put the giveaway on hold until user issues - and maybe technical issues? - are addressed.

I also think Inu (#45093) had a great idea in suggesting a poll to see what user preferences are.

As it is now, it's seriously unfair to a large part of Aywas players.

Don't know how this happened, the post above was by me. :P

I am one of the people who are asleep when the drop happens. So naturally, I completely support having a random drop time, or the egg given to a random person who has been active during the past 24 hours, or some other similar solution.

I am very fond of Teos, so I am happy to see them return, but it is also quite sad to know that I currently have no chance at all of getting them ;)

I read the initial newspost to mean if you're online at that time (does NOT have to be actively playing) - just have it on, even if you're asleep or whatever - then you're fine. Hence why timezones don't need to worry.

That's how I read it.

Gonna throw it out there, but 6pm isn't ideal even for Americans.
Pokefarm, that lovely little "what am i doing with my life, this hurts my hands" site always dumped non-claimed eggs in the shelter at GMT midnight, near 5-6 where I am, usually. Even as an older teen, if i was home with my parents, dinner meant dinner, not 10 minutes from then when I'd had a chance to finish digging around. And even now, I'd have to debate over Aywas or heading out to eat.

I'm also in support of random drop times or the "in the past day" system. Just saying that even the people who seem to have it good, don't necessarily. One exact time of day is very hard to work with, though admittedly being awake does have a larger chance than being asleep.

On re-read, let me clarify: "heading out to eat" is I'm still stuck in college dorm life, so I have to walk all the way to the cafeteria and back for dinner.
I'm not spoiled and eating at restaurants every night.
