It's almost that time of year again - the Black Friday Sale! This year, the sale will run November 13th through November 17th. While we'll have more information for you in regards to the actual sale when it's not so far away, here's some crucial information for those who would like to participate by creating sets:
You may create a set from any of the Exotic Genera (Teo, Faux, Snoodle, or Oët). A set is 5 custom pets with identical edits, all colored uniquely. If your set is accepted, you are also permitted 1 semi-unique that you can turn in at that time or at a later date. All applications must be PM'd to Mayday Marie (#11) with the following subject line: Black Friday 2026 - [email protected] - please replace the e-mail with your PayPal address. You must PM Mayday Marie (#11) with a sketch for for approval! Your sketches must be either 200px or 400px, and they should not be a screenshot of your canvas. If you send Marie a finished product without doing this first, we do not have to accept it. If you make more sets than the ones we approve you to do, we do not have to accept them. You must also send Mayday Marie (#11) examples of your shading and coloring - please embed them as an image that does not exceed 600px and not a link. If you send more than 5 examples, you may be asked to choose which ones you feel best represent your current work. Users may only submit 3 sketches at a time. If more are submitted you will be asked to choose 3 of them to be assessed. Additional sketches will not be assessed until accepted sketches are submitted as complete sets. There will be no exceptions. All sets should be between 50% - 75%. If your set is spectacular, we will accept less edits. We are allowing very few silvers! We will not be accepting a dozen Teos that only have the tails left. All PSDs must be breedable! This means separated edits, shading, highlights, coloring, etc. We will not accept pets that are unbreedable, and we will be checking PSDs. All sets must be completed and turned in to Mayday Marie (#11) by 11:59 PM AST on November 6th!
The payment options are as follows:
$50 paid after Black Friday is over; you must sell at least one coloration of your set on Day 1 or Day 2 to be able to claim this option! 100 GP + 5 SP paid once the set is finished. No base pay, however you are granted a 75% unique of any of the exotic genera creatable this Black Friday. (You are welcome to sell this slot as well, however you must do part of the artwork for it.) 1 Black Friday Egg for the $50 Day. If you do two sets, then you can trade both payments in for 1 Black Friday Egg for the first day!The sell out bonus will work the same as it has been: should your set sell out on day 1 (November 13th) you get a bonus of $75, day 2 (November 14th) is $50 and day 3 (November 15th) is $25.

Ghoulish Gala - Trick or Treat Vote

Hello!
I just wanted to touch base with everyone about this year's Ghoulish Gala!
As some of you may have noticed last year, I struggled quite a bit to get the old Trick or Treat system up and running. This was largely due to suddenly finding myself as the site's coder (as outlined in a later news post). At the time, I was trying to untangle years of old code and get it working without the understanding of the site's structure that I have now. That meant I was debugging, fixing, and overhauling the system on the fly just to get the event functional.
It definitely wasn't the ideal way to approach things, but my priority was making sure everyone still had a event to enjoy. In the process, I ended up rebuilding much of the Trick or Treat system behind the scenes while keeping the overall concept and feel of the event the same.
Now that things have settled down, I have a much better understanding of how the site works and is structured. That leaves me with a choice for this year's event, and rather than decide on my own, I'd like your input.
I still have the original Trick or Treat system, and with what I've learned over the past year, I could restore it to work much as it did before.
At the same time, I know the newer system introduced several improvements that many users enjoyed.
Rather than assume which version everyone prefers, I'd like to ask now while there's still plenty of time before October. That gives me enough time to repair, polish, and test whichever direction the community would like to see, instead of trying to make major changes at the last minute.
So, what would you like to see this year?

Breedings and humanoid rules

Greetings!
Breeding and Custom staff have noticed an increasing trend in some breedings that leave artists with no way to create an offspring while still following the humanoid rules. This can force artists to either break those rules (which include, but are not limited to, Sphinx, Taur, and other humanoid traits) or leave features fully off the offspring outcomes, which could be seen as a mistake, as both parents have that feature. (e.g. both parents have human noses, but the baby has no nose at all.)
We are aware that in the past, pets have passed that broke the humanoid rules for many reasons (e.g. before the rule existed, grandfathered in, or past breedings output these types even when it was being enforced in Gen 1 customs). However, this was never intended to be a workaround to the rules. Under the current team, this standard has been enforced across all custom features, but it can place a significant burden on artists when a breeding pair leaves them with few or no options to create a compliant offspring.
We want to clarify that this is not a new rule, but rather enforcement of a long-standing rule that dates back to 2013 when the humanoid rules were put in place. .
Moving forward, from this new post, any new breeding submitted that does not allow an artist to produce an offspring that will follow custom rules will be refunded if the breeding is a Refundable Breeding Type. If it is not refundable (Pendants), there will be no compensation for lost breedings when using a non-refundable breeding item. Please contact Brad (#2575) before using a non-refundable item with a humanoid pet pair for a quick check if it would be disallowed.
For random breeding games (Eggnog, Blind Date, Drinking Game, etc.), breeding artists will be instructed to make changes as needed to fit the rules. Because participants do not control who they are paired with, artists may make minor adjustments where necessary to bring the offspring into compliance. This may include adding things like fluffy ears rather than human ears, animal noses, or other small changes the parents do not have to replace a rule-breaking pairing. This will be done as minimally as needed to make the offspring pass.
Because this has always been an enforceable rule, existing breedings will also be reviewed under these standards.
If you have an existing breeding that does not allow an artist to produce an offspring that will follow custom rules, we will will be reaching out to you with options to remedy the issue. What is offered will depend on the coin used and what the issue is.
Users with these types of breedings will be given 60 days to reply to that message and pick how they wish to fix the breeding from the options, so they do not lose their place in line. Please be advised that these breedings will not be assigned (and if they are accidentally assigned, they will be unassigned) until a resolution is picked.
After that time, if there is no reply or the user does not pick an approved resolution, staff will move forward with treating the breeding like a new breeding, and it will be refunded if able to be, or marked for predictions only if not refundable and user directed to refer to the original PM for options to return it to queue (or make acceptable predictions), and random breeding games will move forward as outlined under the new breeding terms stated above.

Parent 1 has a human-shaped head (Allowed in Isolation), Elf Ear (Allowed in Isolation)

Parent 2 has a human-shaped head (Allowed in Isolation), Human Mouth (Allowed in Isolation), No ears (or ears are hidden under hair, etc.)

This would potentially force an artist when working on the face and head of a Platinum, Sketch, or Scribble outcome to have a human-shaped head (Allowed in Isolation), Elf Ear (Allowed in Isolation), and, depending on face shape, many human-shaped heads also make human-shaped mouths. This means multiple Allowed in Isolation traits would be required, as there are no other traits present.
This type of breeding would require a 3rd parent to be added with DNA to bring back animal traits, or it would be refunded.
Allowed:
Parent 1 has a human-shaped head (Allowed in Isolation), stand-up fluffy wolf-like ears, elongated wolf-like nose
Parent 2 has Elf ears (Allowed in Isolation), Abdominal muscle (Allowed in Isolation)

This would be allowed, though the outcome would only allow one allowed in Isolation trait, but the artist could easily pair a human face with fluffy wolf ears, etc. No overlapping isolation traits are forcing more than one to be used regardless of the coin used.

Prediction Pool Party (PPP) 2026 Edition

🤯 IT'S TIME FOR PPP 2026! 🤯
(Side note: raffle prizes for 2025 will be sent out over the weekend. Thank-you for your patience!)
For those of you who are new to the party, and those who are PPPs (pool party professionals), this is the general gist.
ALL BREEDINGS THAT ARE ELIGIBLE FOR PPP PERKS MUST BE SUBMITTED BEFORE JUNE 3, 2026. Breedings after this date do not qualify for perks!
ALL PERKS CAN BE FOUND HERE
The event will run until October 31, 2026, 11:59pm. This gives you five months to work on and design as many predictions as you can!
- The Prediction Caps are being temporarily removed for all coins during this time!
- Any artist that makes a prediction can enter themselves into a raffle by posting in the Artist Raffle Forum
- All edit percentages are "loose" for this event only, so we will not get up in your business if you submit a 50% breeding and it is 57%. If you have a 50% breeding and we can't tell what species it is, then we might have a problem.
- Remember! Predictions can be done for USD however if they are not Platinum Breeding Coin, Scribble or Sketch Breeding Coin predictions they must go through the Commission Panel!
RULES
• All predictions must have the PSD attached in order to qualify for this event.
• Breeding rules still apply! If you bought a breeding slot, for only one baby, please ensure that you have the owner's permission before making extra baby predictions! If someone violates this, they may have their baby deleted without refund.
• Please included "Prediction Pool Party" in your breeding notes, or predictions and breedings will be processed as normal!
• All artists must have a forum for their sales thread in our new Pool Party Subforum.
• All artists must have a forum for their raffle entries in the Artist Raffle Subforum.
Just a general note as well, per the USD commissions KB article, fees must be paid within one month of finishing commissions as long as your fees total $5 or more. I will be following up with users that have outstanding fees over the coming weeks, so please make sure you have these squared away where possible. You can pay your fees either by generating an invoice, or taking on breeding lists, GCC, and other panel work.
Users who fail to pay their fees or begin to work off their balance may have their access to the commission panel and capless PPP predicts suspended until their owed balance is paid in full. Thank-you for your cooperation!
