Aywas is currently hiring a human avatar artist. This artist would produce a male and female human base, as well as hair styles and clothing/accessories for said bases. If you are interested in applying, please submit human art examples to [email protected]
We are paying approximately $50 per base and $10 per object/hairstyle/clothing (eg: $5 an item, on two bases).

And, as I said, I hope a personality-removal potion item is eventually available so I can un-personality my future pets, but so far, none of the new features have really been anything I greatly dislike, unlike most sites I've been on that force awful changes on you despite mass amounts of users being obviously displeased and just wishing for a way to disable that specific part of the site for themselves. I likes aywas, and I luff how user opinion is taken into account. It's a very rare change I've seen in pet sites, so thus far, personally, I'm beyond pleased. This really is the best site I've found in over ten years of pet-site'ing now. And, because you had to make me, Beejerz; AYWUZ IS AWSUM AND I LUVZ EET HEER ohyeah an' mah NOT CHEEBIE petsies are the epic pwn'some kk. B)

Not trying to be flippant... but would just a few ears and tail options satisfy a few more people? Make instead of a human representative a anthropomorph/furry version? Don't attack me because I don't understand, I will be completely upfront and say that I really don't get the fursona thing, but I respect those who are very much into that aspect of themselves and how they see themselves. But would that be an acceptable middle-ground for some people? In any case, I like this idea, I can't wait to see what will be come up with. I personally don't play Gaia but I love the TekTek for avatars, and I play a few "doll" games where it's basically all about dressing them up. As long as I can have blue eyes and fire-truck red hair I'll be content XD Oh - and lots of black :3 And boobs - dear gawd give some distinction between the men and woman XD Androgynous is fine, but make it a third option. I'm personally very proud of being well-endowed in the breast section XD

I am not too excited about it mainly because I like to lurk around the site like Spenser does in order to collect items for his dump shop.
I will withhold judgement until I see what it looks like.

Looking extremely forward to this! Hopefully, different custom items will be available to more accurately portray the persona (and get money for the site, oh ho ho). I wonder if anthros would ever be a viable option, but then I can understand completely if not. It could throw off the whole image of it being humans who reside in Ay who own the pets. Though perhaps more simple things like custom ears+tail adds would be fun and not completely break the illusion!
I'm genuinely hoping that the art is more American-styled than Japanese, but that's just my personal taste. Not all too big on the style of anime, though it would be more in line with the current art of the human NPCs in Ay... I guess we'll just see when the person gets selected. I'd attempt an application, but I haven't the time to devote or the masterful art skills! I would be the least reliable D: so I'll just wave my flags at everyone

Ohyeah, Beej? Then BAN ME, BBY >P It's okay, sweetheart. I know it's 'cause you loooove me. -wink- (and lisps are sexy as all hell, dontchu deny it. xD) Personally, I like my melos and stuff the way they are, chibi or not. It's not hard for me to envision them as more realistic and thus animalistic characters like they are in my mind. Might be odd for a human 'avatar', though. Personally, I'm a tub of lard, and it'd be very strange to me to have my 'avatar' be some presumably pretty, skinny little not-quite-anime chick. I hope at least that feature is turnoffable. -c-
