Lesser Breeding Pendant

You might have noticed that your silver paws amount now links to the SP Shop. By Friday it should be fully functional and all contests will be awarded with SP. To celebrate the coming of the SP Shop, I'm giving away an LBP. LBPs are re-usable LBCs that allow you to breed two pets of the same species every month.

To enter this contest, please post about two pets that are mated (either both yours, or one is yours and one is a friend's) and how they met!

This will end on Wednesday at midnight.

A breeding between #1046 and #62519.
Old Fashion Christmas, by Gelasia.

Pt. 1.

Give me an old fashioned Christmas

Sometimes, when a item is lovingly handled for many many years, they start to feel. Eventually they grow a consciousness. And in the end, there is a small spirit that lives in the object, watching over you.

Crysi was one of such spirits. Decades ago, more than half a century, an old jewelry worker beat lumps of gold into filigree, tenderly bending and twisting it, over a delicate orb.

Diamonds were inset one by one, and it was a very beautiful ornament by the time it was done. The elderly man kissed the ornament and put all his feelings into it. He knew he was ill, and this last present to his granddaughter, expecting her firstborn, had all of his love in it.

Nemesis and Magic are a rather idiotic couple; most of the time, they seem unaware that they're anything more than friends. But every now and then they sweeten up and think about their rather simplistic meeting. They were out shopping, complete strangers still, and they wound up standing next to each other, looking over grapefruits of all things. He told her that they usually got in fresher ones on Tuesday and she decided he was going to be her new project--said project was dubbed, "Make him smile!" and she set about following him around.{continued}

{part 2}Three weeks into this, he snapped and she threw a bucket of water on him. She showed up in his garden before him the next day and presented him with a bag of assorted seeds. Their friendship didn't blossom into something more for almost a year, when they were--once again--out shopping. Someone knocked into her, causing her to trip and drop her bag(he only ever let her carry one). Then the bumper turned and decided to yell at her. Nemesis punched him in the face and somehow found himself kissing Magic a few hours later. And now, three years later, they still haven't progressed much. They're stupid.

Pt. 2

An old fashioned Christmas

The young woman received the ornament the week before Christmas, and gasped in delight at the beautiful glimmering. She hung it on her large white fur pine, facing the fireplace, so it would pick up the light when the lights and candles faded.

The years past, and the elderly man left to go to the heavens, and the young woman grew, and her children grew. Many years passed, and the children were having children of their own.

Pt. 3

Family faces, wide open spaces

It was on the first christmas of the third babies life, another little girl. The older kids were out playing in the snow, the moon wide and the sleds active. The littlest girl lay in her crib near the fire.

The sparkle caught her eye, and she reached toward the bauble. A feel of love came from the baby, and much the surprise of the baby, she felt love back. This was the ornaments first thought, and only the baby knew in her childlike innocence that the ornament was alive.

Pt. 4

Covered with snow

This young babe grew into a young woman, and then into an elderly lady. She no longer remembered that insight of the ornaments life, but over the years had taken to calling the ornament Crysi, which she had done since a young age.

Crysi had watched the woman every holiday, and the beautiful life that the woman lived shined brightest every holiday. Crysi slept during the rest of the seasons, but winter she was alive, and watching.

A.N. Disregard the italic error on top.

Pt. 5

Right now my moms there in the kitchen

She watched the woman as a baby, toddling around, as a child, opening her gifts, and as a young lady, with holiday heartbreak. She loved this lady as much as her little spirit heart could give.

But now she was ill, and she had had no children, her siblings had passed, and her parents were long gone. The rude nieces and nephews of the modern society pressed her to go into a nursing home.

Pt. 6

Basting the Christmas bird

It was that last Christmas when Crysi realized that the old woman, dear to her heart, could no longer remember her, or very much anymore. Crysi was packed into a box, and for years she slept, heartbroken.

The old woman passed, and a few years later, Crysi woke at an unusual time. It was summer, and her first thought was "Its too green." It was too warm, where was the snow?

Pt. 7

You'll have to take my word

The antique mall took her at a high price, as a valuable. And while Crysi was sad and lonely, she wasn't for long. She had never had a friend before, but there was an old mirror that talked to her, and the funniest nutcracker that always made the best holiday jokes.

It was not the same as her tree, and she missed her family.. but she was content.

Pt. 8

You can't find that at the auto mat

One late night, she woke to screams. The nutcracker, the mirror, they told her to be silent. A thief was there, taking some of the old priceless valuables.

The nutcracker was wise, he said the thief would take the jewels and pottery, but for the most part, they would be left alone.

The mirror was oh so surprised when she was covered in cloth and carried away.
