Those dastardly pendants...

Site Update

This is a short newspost, so please be sure to check the one under this for Holiday related goodies!

Yasu coded for me a 60-day regen, so I'm using it for the purpose of making Lesser Breeding Pendants 60 day regen. I know people will be rather upset by this, but with several hundreds in circulation and the price of pendant slots still horribly devalued, this needs to be done to cut back. I mean, look at the queue...

Lesser Breeding Coin (x311) | Lesser Breeding Pendant (x383)

This should not be as imbalanced. Pendants are supposed to be rare, so we're hoping this combats it. Think of it logically:

RBPS and MBPs are cheapest and pendants regen at 30 days.

LBPs are mid-grade in price and regen at 60 days.

BPs, EBPS, PBPs, and HBPs are the rarest, and are at a 90 day regen for this reason.

Please understand we do this to keep the balance in the system, and we really want to be fair on all accounts. This effectively means for the amount of LBCs people submit, a little over that amount comes around for free in the system. I hope this pans out eventually despite the obvious frustrations it will cause.

Now aside from this, spend those Candy Canes and Snowflakes and carry on merrily!

Even though I don't have a LBP, this change is very understable. And of course if I had one and sold slots Id be a bit peeved about it but would definitely understand the change. Its going to help a lot with the back up hopefully by reducing it in half!

Maybe, we can look into ways of limiting SP going INTO the system? I was gifted mine, so I don't mind the change. However, I know a few of them or more were bought with Sp that came from when the chrons were running irregularly. Can we maybe work out a better way of managing the games before we do something this drastic? The chrons are running too irregular, and that's causing the influx of Sp that people use rather than report. Overall the change does seem fair, however it needn't of happened if we had the SP thing in control. The plush collections offered too much when they were out, and the fact that we didn't take them down in time helped with that. Maybe we need to spread out events more as well.

Hmmm....I understand, but this is going to severely devalue the lbp since now instead of producing 12 essential lbc's a year it only does...6. Why not change the pendants to actually allow you to collect the respective coin if one is not going to use it and keep the lbp on a 1 month regen? I mean, I bought mine for 300 gp and got Sia's at full SP price. At 23 gp for 6 months that is only about 138 gp which makes it less then half that I paid on it.

A lot of the comments on suggesting things should go in the Suggestions forum. I personally cannot change things other than stuff in my department so if you disagree with this or anything related to it, or you want to suggest improvement, Suggestions forum is there!

I've only had my pendant for 2 months or so, and I was super excited about finally having saved enough money that I could breed pets every month. So I'm pretty disappointed that it's blown out to every 2 months now, after how much I paid for the pendant and how it took me almost all year to save for the darned thing. It's going to take a whole lot longer to pay itself back now. I have a lot of friends that I wanted to say thankyou to by giving them a baby from my LBP breedings each month, but now I can't really do that. With only six breedings a year, I'll probably have to think about more what I want now than gifting people. The worst thing: the site artists are rarely burdened with my breedings. I always get predicts done, to save the site artists the trouble. I'm just glad I didn't sell any slots,. because there is no way I'd be able to pay back 6 months worth of breedings overnight.

I'm glad you guys were able to get the 2 month regen coded! However, I too am curious about how this will effect currently regenerating pendants; a friend loaned theirs to me, and I'd like to know when to expect it back c: I hope that this helps even out the LBP/LBC balance in time.

I agree with Vettie. I had a lot of SP that I was saving thinking that I could get myself another LBP when I felt the need to, or when it'd be nice to get someone a gift. But now that they're out of the shop... I don't have access to the amount of LBP's that I very well could have gotten at any time prior. The fact that PBP's are now being offered to only those who were lucky enough to have purchased their LBP's earlier than the cut off ...well, maybe you can understand how I feel. I had enough sp to trade in for the PBP that I /actually/ want, but I'm now getting penalized so I can't have a chance at a PBP because I didn't flood the market with LBP's (which I didn't really have an interest in using) right when I got enough sp for it. Couldn't there be some kind of option for a small window of time to allow those who really would like one, with x amount of sp, to buy one with that sp? /as a kind of compensation for taking out the LBP's that we could've used to trade in for one, I suppose.

*buy a PBP, not more LBP's. I understand the reason for not wanting to introduce more LBP's into the system.

'lol, know all that hard work you did earning me player? Well now I'm only worth half of that. Hope you didn't have PLANS. Hope you didn't PRE SELL. If you did well you're screwed huh.'
