Those dastardly pendants...

Site Update

This is a short newspost, so please be sure to check the one under this for Holiday related goodies!

Yasu coded for me a 60-day regen, so I'm using it for the purpose of making Lesser Breeding Pendants 60 day regen. I know people will be rather upset by this, but with several hundreds in circulation and the price of pendant slots still horribly devalued, this needs to be done to cut back. I mean, look at the queue...

This should not be as imbalanced. Pendants are supposed to be rare, so we're hoping this combats it. Think of it logically:

RBPS and MBPs are cheapest and pendants regen at 30 days.

LBPs are mid-grade in price and regen at 60 days.

BPs, EBPS, PBPs, and HBPs are the rarest, and are at a 90 day regen for this reason.

Please understand we do this to keep the balance in the system, and we really want to be fair on all accounts. This effectively means for the amount of LBCs people submit, a little over that amount comes around for free in the system. I hope this pans out eventually despite the obvious frustrations it will cause.

Now aside from this, spend those Candy Canes and Snowflakes and carry on merrily!

I am very curious to know what the regen status is for pendants that are still regenning. Should I be looking for mine on the 9th or will I have to wait until February?

I'm sorry, but this is TOTALLY UNFAIR to those of us who worked hard to get them when they WERE available in the SP shop, and did so with the expectation that we would get to use them MONTHLY.
It also ruins the price that we could resell them for if we decided to sell them.
TOTALLY NOT FAIR!!!
VERY disappointed & angered by this decision. I feel cheated. :(

I'm just glad I sold my pendant because it's not even worth it now lmao

I'll update with the regen status when I ask Slash next. I'm not quite sure how that works.

Really? I can't say that I agree with this decision. You have taken them out of the SP shop. The site will continue to grow and if there are very few LBP's added into circulation in the future, the imbalance will naturally correct itself over time without upsetting the players. The problem is really a need for more breeding artists. While it takes only a week or so for Skitty to approve and upload a custom, breedings take months. There simply aren't enough artists to handle the load. Preventing people from breeding rather than hiring more breeding artists is the wrong direction even if it offers some short term relief.

What if you offered to buy/refund ppl who don't like the 60 day regen rate?

People worked for months to gain either the 25SP or 300-500GP to buy a pendant that regens every month. At a 1 month regen, it'd take about a year (or more, depending on GP price) of use to even out their investment before it can be considered a 'free' breeding. Now it'll take double that time to make it worth buying instead of just buying LBC's whenever you want to breed. So basically, the LBP's are no longer worth their original price.

Offering to refund the person with GP or SP would do two things, keep people happy, and get LBPs completely out of the system. I think this would work for any other pendant that is giving issues and has been changed to another regen schedule *cough*EBP*cough*

The problem I see is more an expansion of users using the site vs staff/artists available to cater to them really. It's not that the users are abusing anything or getting 'too much for free' but that since there's little artists working, the demand gets too high too quickly.

Why though? Wouldn't you agree that all of the negatives surrounding the odds of the EBP warrant it to be lesser status than full guarantee pendants such as HBP/BCP/PBP?

I'm not trying to be rude or mean here, but. I feel like this is really punishing people with LBPs. >: I know you guys are trying to cut down the queue, but it really makes me upset that we bought this and were expecting it to regen every month. This is going to seriously devalue pendants now and hurt the people who worked to get them. I think there should be more of a "get them out of the system" option rather than cutting them for the people who own them.

May I ask about this potential PBP for LBP deal, for those of us who had enough SP to buy a second LBP (25SP+) but didn't actually get the chance to buy it because they were removed. Would there be anyway to transfer SP + LBPs, or is it LBP only? Just a question.

This is unfair because people bought the pendant under the premise that it would be there every month. But I guess it wont ever change so...
