Treats? Red Flags!

Evening, folks! Inspired by recent events, we're all going to gather 'round and talk about some general Internet and online game red flags so we can continue to have a safe community.
It has come to our attention that at least one account has been mass-spamming other players with similar messages, offering free avatar art and asking for IM accounts. These kinds of scams are usually an attempt to get your personal information, solicit minors or phish for account passwords. Staff can't do anything about offsite activities, which is why most people with bad intentions try to work through instant messengers.
Never, ever give someone personally identifying information or click on links from people you don't know. When opting to give a user your offsite contact information, do so with a pound of caution and at your own risk. Don't take candy from strangers, let alone tell them your favorite kind!
If you have acted on a message like the one described above, we strongly suggest you block the IM account(s) and change your password(s) to be on the safe side.
If you ever encounter a user or message that looks suspicious to you or just gives you that bad feeling in your gut, please do not hesitate to contact a staff member immediately. People like this aren't exactly going to waltz up to our doors, but they will go to players that look established or unsuspecting, so we really rely on you guys to let us know when something is amiss. Thank you!
Now that we've had a little chat, let's go out for some ice cream!

The Art Gallery has been judged! The theme was Pets in Costumes.
I loved the different ways everyone tackled this theme. :3 Here are our winners:

I did want to note that some of the entries this time around couldn't be under consideration for placement because they didn't follow the rules.
Remember, even though the theme varies each week, the rules stay the same, which means all submissions must be Aywas-related and must have your name/ID. Keep this in mind for your future submissions!

Breeding Pendant Charms

You may recall that there were 100 in stock and that a Breeding Pendant would be raffled off for every 50 sold.
Well, the 50th one sold yesterday, and we have our winner!

Raw Pet Update
I wanted to remind you that the Woolith will be leaving us as a Raw pet on November 15th, so get your customs in! I say this as if I don't have 2837432 Woolith PSDs left to color myself, oh dear. XD

Good morning! Did all my British buddies enjoy Guy Fawkes last night? Did you satiate your desire for sparklers and those extraordinarily expensive glowy things they sell at public fireworks displays? I know I did, because being an adult is all about making silly decisions with money.

First person to guess how many tabs I have open in my browser wins a Flame Custom Crystal and a Flame Custom Orb since we were all busy setting things on fire last night in the UK. Hint: it's a normal-ish, reasonable number - that means not 3, and not 50. I'll throw in a little something extra out of my inventory if you manage to guess the right browser, too!

Pet Images, OCCs/OCCs and other goodies!

I have a couple updates for everyone!
I am very excited to announce that all pet images should now be displaying properly, so run to your lairs and ogle the pretties you haven't been able to see lately!
You may recall that Orange Custom Crystals and Orange Custom Orbs were supposed to be findable in the Haunted House for three days only--October 30th, 31st and November 1st.
Due to them not appearing in treasure chests nor being carried by merchants for some reason, their time was extended until Yasu could fix that issue, meaning you've had three additional days to explore for them at this point. I was hoping to have the bug remedied by now, but Yasu experienced some complications while trying to perform the battledome maintenance and has not yet been able to fix the chest/merchant issue, so in order to keep the OCC/OCO numbers in check, I'll be pulling them out around 2 PM tomorrow. As soon as Yasu can address the merchant/chest issue, the OCCs and OCOs will be returning to the Haunted House for a full 24 hours. I'm so sorry about this, guys, but I hope you've enjoyed the extra time, and even if you haven't been able to get one of these custom-making items yet, you will have another chance! I appreciate your understanding and patience with this.
I have added a couple pets to the lab for Haunted Pumpkins! Don't forget to keep a couple since they'll be turning into a Halloween HA souvenir after the HH and everything closes (which should be around the 14th).
We still have the orb mystery shop coming as well as a bonus use for those extra plants, and we still have something in store for the pumpkins from the goodie bag!
NaNoWriMo
We've made a couple slight adjustments to the Nano rules for this time around.
Slash is very firm on having to update your thread every day, but we've added some flexibility. If you haven't started your novel yet or started late, it's okay! You may start your thread at any time in November, but once you start, you must update your thread every day. If you know you can't write on X day, you still have to update your thread, but you can just post the previous day's wordcount to show there was no change.

What Just Happened?
Site Update
I'm pretty sure you all are asking what just happened with the site?
The site downtime occurred due to it's weekly backup tasks. This website hosts about 600 GB of data, and to ensure we are able to restore the site in case anything bad happens, that information must be backed up once in a while -- most of it being images.
The site should be back online now and functioning normally. If you guys run into any major problems that weren't around before the site went down, feel free to post 'em in the comments to this news posts.

Battle Update, Art Gallery, Carving Voting

Adventure/Battle System Update
Yasu wanted me to let you know that tonight around 2 AM AST the adventure and battle systems will be going down for about an hour for maintenance. He may have to wipe battles that you're engaged in, so make sure you finish up any by that time!
He will also be adding OCOs and OCCs to merchants/chests, so you'll have another day to try and obtain those. I'll make an announcement when they've been successfully added.
