New Feature



Yasu is almost finished with Adventure (the recoded Explore) and wants to know if there are any events, quests, or encounters you'd like to see in the feature to make it more enjoyable.

For example, encountering a monster is an event. Finding BP is an event. Finding a traveling merchant is an event. Do you have any other event ideas?

The current way to quest is by killing monsters. Do you have any other ideas for questing (to level up in explore)?



The results of the robot customs will come a couple of hours after this. :)

Bring back the "This pet would like to join you" event? Make is really rare, and only available through normal explore (aka, aynip, etc won't make it happen).

Liking the lock picking idea as well as the random pet wanting to join you...

how about:
Your pet learning to pick locks as one of its four abilities

A monster randomly starting a fight without asking you to fight it? (Sneak pounce attack)

Have an actual lockpick item where it has a 50/50 chance of breaking and you get luck points. Every time you get the chest open it will give you +1 luck. Every time you break one, it will give you -1 luck. Luck CAN go in the negatives as well. Using said luck points will allow you to find more BP and the more rare items or pets.

A monster quest were you have to kill more monsters but it can be ANY monsters. Finding special items (say, a quest to find leaves, berries, sticks and such) And going on to piece together different mysteries and maybe I dunno ... solve crimes as well? Maybe even hidden places ... where we can unlock special pets and items? (Sort of like, say on Subeta you need to find map pieces to an island before you can go to it, and on that island you can get special pets, or the Labray on Neopets - I dunno but I find those maps fun.)

I dont particularly like the "stronger monsters for us over lv 9000 pet owners".... The solution to that problem is a sickness flower or start with a new pet. Anyhoo, love the finding random item idea and the random question = bp or items. My suggestions? Boss battles before reaching next level. Monster packs/chains (defeating 3-5 monsters in a row without break). And please please please code the monster/pet flute, poison gem, anti freeze potion, aloe gel and all that other goodness.

Seconding the "Lost pet follows you home," idea for getting something cool. I would prefer it to be a rare event for a very worthwhile pet so it stays exciting and doesn't result in you filling up your lair with pets you don't really want.

Not sure if this would work with what you had in mind, but another way to make it more dynamic would be to have choices of actions. Rather than just hitting the Continue button over and over, maybe you could choose directions, choose to go inside sub-areas like caves or near houses, ponds, any number of obstacles in the terrain. It would give it more of a choose-your-own adventure feel.

The questing could be changed up by having you find quests too, by choosing to follow the sound of a mewing animal, maybe you run into an NPC who needs you to kill x monsters or find x items.

Maybe have the NPC requests pop up as part of Explore instead of separately. It might be handier. :)

I think it might be fun to level up in explore by finding map pieces or something. It could be a random drop from monsters/merchant/treasure chests. I just hate the current method of questing. =X I spent hours and hours on just the 2 places I ended up mastering, and ended up frustrated. I'd hope it'd be a high enough drop chance to take a little less time than that. ^^'

Anyway, just my idea. ^_^

I was thinking about that chance of breaking the lock on a chest earlier today when my BF was out of keys... thought that would be cool.... and I kinda like wolfcats idea of finding stuff for xp, but better...... If you have ever played virtual villagers (or even their plant game) there are collection items you find throughout the game... maybe like a shell collection... every so often for the river or bridge you find a shell, and if it's one you haven't found it goes to this collection page, but if it's one you have already you would get xp for it (tech points in Virtual villagers)

Maybe have like 10 common, 10 uncommon, and 10 rare for each collection, and maybe get something cool for each collection that you complete... like shells maybe a shell necklace for your avatar or something (or collections for each individual pet and the collections could go on their pet page and then the pets could have trophies or something too)
Do it for each pet and that adds replay value to the collection idea (also the reason why the reward would be a clothing item, and non transferable... I like the idea of my Rocky wearing a shell necklace lol)
