Anyway, so someone asked what a re-inked melo (as opposed to redrawn) would look like, so we produced this.
Which do you like better? I'm fairly ambivalent either way.

May I ask what is the problem about a pixelated animal looking chubby? If you want to make a custom, that can be fixed.

I like the first one. The second one looks too cartoony for my tastes. There are fewer things I dislike about the first one.

Even though I like the redraw better, the reink will make breeding easier. Voting reink with redraw as a subspecies.
Also I'm finding a lot of these complaints (big "creepy" eyes, chubby, big head, thin neck) kinda funny because the old Melo had the same issues in boatloads. It was part of the pet's design. xD Change too much and people complain that it "doesn't match the style". Also, everybody loved giving their old Melo customs bedroom eyes and tummy tucks anyway, so no reason why you can't do the same on the new lineart customs.

I was really liking the first sketch, then it went and turned into this horrible twirly girly female thing with a giant tall head and a giant floof tail. As it has been edited, I have steadily liked the redraw less and less.
Even with the current shading, I much prefer the reink if that thing is the alternative.
Jayy: No, it can't be fixed. At least not very easily. I spent several hours last night trying to do exactly that, and I ended up reshading the entire thing myself.

First one for sure. Although I do agree that the shading is better on the second, and that the lines on it are a little choppy, THAT is the melo I know and I'd be much happier with it going through. I like the melo ears as-is, too, and I didn't like the new tail, so I like those aren't changed on the reink.

The first one's neck makes me D: so I voted for the second (which also looks much softer). Buuut it doesn't look like that's the way it's going to turn out, so. OH WELL. Just move on to my Orimis.

Forgot to add that if the first one goes through as it is, I imagine it would make breeding so much easier than the second. Copy pasting edits onto the one on the right was not easy at all without it looking ridiculously off due to the face/chest/ears (I attempted it to see how easy redoing customs would be), but I may be willing to redo my old customs/premades for people on the new lines if the new lines are the ones on the left. I'm really, really hoping that one goes through right now because it's a HUGE improvement over the current melo, without it turning super girly or changing it so drastically like the second melo.

The second melo wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the face. The muzzle just kills it for me.
