Amity (#3340) decided to submit a breeding to the Ugliest Hybrid Breeding Ever Contest that made me wince and nod with agreement.

Green and pink and yellow and blue? how could this end well. You agree with me, right?

Looks like our hybrid artists are capable of making something nice out of an abomination. o__o

Speaking of breedings, be prepared for the release of Breeding Coins on July 1 - July 7. As always, they will be 75 GP.

I was looking forward to seeing something horribly ugly :c The contest was a little misleading :9

MY only thing is... if this weren't a contest... and someone actually submitted those two to get a kyre.. would it actually come out that pretty or would the person have ended up with a puke-colored kyre =/

I'm agreeing with Skitty and Toki, wholeheartedly. As a person that has been made to create something "nice" out of TWO F/ALL HIDEOUS PARENTS (on Gaia, thanks) for a breeding...there is no way that the two parents above could have made "ugly" babies unless the colorist was either blind, drunk or incredibly lazy.

Red <--> Green are complimentary, red and blue suit well together also, as just about everyone knows. And while both are bright, I don't see "clashing" or "eyeraep" anywhere in thar. :/ It's disappointing to see that instead of something UGLY two very pretty, complimentary pets were chosen to make even more lovely offspring, but it's not my contest, not my site and not my decision.

Congrats to the winner, however.

That would be Toki, Slash. And most people that have commented agree. Complaints do not make it fun to host more contests, but that's what happens when you own a pet sim-site like this one is.

As a note, while we mostly agree with that, the comments are still valid -- and I wanted to reiterate what Toki said earlier: There are things on this baby that should not have happened, markingwise, but did due to artist's discretion. The baby's belly should have been pale, there should have been more orange and yellow tones, and I see no hint of the Soli Parent's blue markings, despite them being so prevalent.

I get why it was left off, but I still say: that was not an "ugly" combo and the baby was fixed into being quite beautiful.

Ah, for those wondering, Slash's comment that I refer to was basically: "QFE to whomever said that" (referring to the comment that complaints do not make admin/mods want to hold more contests).

Not certain why Slash felt the need to remove that comment, but there you go.

... that's pretty, not ugly... it looks like a watermelon. difficult contest, for sure as "ugly" is objective.
