Time to Vote!

Site Update

It's time to vote! Voting is important this year, isn't it? ;)

We have six genuses from you to choose from. Please select TWO bases that you would like to vote for. The top voted base, as described before, will be the new "Faux in the Box" feature pet! It will have its own box. The second place pet will be added as a trinket species!

So get voting, and in forty-eight hours (or less, probably, but we'll have the poll open that long) we'll know who the winners are! And the rest you can expect as future Raw Crystal pets... or something.

For those of you upset about the Paintbrushes leaving because you do not have PayPal accounts, you will still be able to commission artists through the Commissions panel. We have an "Escrow" add-on feature coming to the panel that facilitates a three way trade between an artist, a commissioner with USD, and a buyer with GP or items that protects all three individuals in the trade.

It's a complicated feature to describe and engineer, and it won't be out until an estimated late March or early April, but it should solve the problems of not being able to send PayPal money.

Sorry, Ancient Mew, but I can't really be bothered to think about the site's artists when the site is so unfriendly to artistically impared users. If it weren't for the kindness and generosity of a single random stranger here, I'd have quit the site in frustration by now.

BTW, not that it means anything to me, but this "escrow" thing you guys mentioned? Did you even bother to listen to yourselves? "For those who don't have paypal, we will make a tool to let you get in touch with someone who does have pay pal, and you can pay them to pay the artist with GP... WITCH REQUIRED PAYPAL to obtain. Yout not adresseing any complaints, just adding in a pointles extra step meant to confuse people and make them BELIEVE you are working with them.

I know I must sounds like the ultimate troll here, but in the last 6 months or so, I have been betrayed, backstabbed, and shunned over my disabilities, my lifestyle and sexual identity, and being lower-class, so much that I have pretty much lost the ability to trust anyone. If I seem cold, distant, and uncaring, it's because I am.

Sorry...

They're way too cartoony for my taste. Cute but no. I like elegant pets with more room for detail. I must say, I can't imagine any of these designs getting a whole special box for them :/

I don't really understand the Escrow feature, I know you said it's difficult to explain, but could you explain it in terms of non-Aywas items? I'm going to use real life items as an example again. Let's just say that user A makes items and ships them to user B. User B doesn't have paypal, and some of the commission items are USD only, so user B buys paintbrushes from someone who has them, and pays the commission that way. How does the Escrow fit into this? From what I'm understanding, Escrow is only for commissioners who are making site pets, so it'd be artist>commissioner>person with the GP that they somehow obtained.
Escrow is a three way system, so how would that work for a two way system, as in real life items that don't pertain to Aywas? This can also work for people who just draw like, non aywas pets/customs, but like, RLC art that doesn't really need aywas? I just want to make sure everything is covered, because while I do like GP, paintbrushes helped me out on bills/food money (ish, I know the fees on them were ridic and I'm not advocating for them to stay, I know they needed to be fixed up lol) I just want to know if there are options for people who do non-aywas commissions. I know I mentioned this earlier a few pages back, but I feel I may have defined it better on what I was asking in this post. I hope I don't come off as annoyed, I'm actually just curious as to how the system would work on a two way setting.

Aurelian (#71991) Did you read properly? The excrow feature is as follows (to my usderstanding)

-Person A pays Gp to Person B to commission a USD artist for them
-This GP transaction is covered by the site( i.e. Its backed by the 1 month commission rule, in the TOS)
-Person B takes the GP and pays the USD to commission Person As chosen artist with Person As prompt
-Artist completes artwork and is paid by person B.

In the end, Person A gets their art, Person B gets the GP and Artist gets the USD.

Where in all of that, does Person A need Paypal, except from buying GP, but even then you can get GP without the use of paypal.

"except from buying GP"

^This. I suppose you could sell/trade for it, but that requires you to have somthing worth selling/trading. The only thing I have is a customs item that is, for some stupid reason, glued to my acoount, and can't be sold or traded. Any pets worth selling for GP can't easily be obtained without it or without creating a custom, which again, requires artistic talent. That is why I said this site is so unfriendly to non-artists. Hell, I have even had usres here tell me that I never should have bothred joining this site and to just leave because I am not artistic.
