Voluspa, lemme try to keep this short cuz i gotta go to school:
1: Eve's job is the queue. I have attacked her for managing the queue poorly. I have attacked the site separately for them having let Eve do her job poorly.
2: Also, my argument is "Eve is doing a poor job," which you have not addressed.
3: Once more, ad hominem. My complaints are still valid
and yet you have chosen to ignore them in favor of telling me what my character flaws are.
4: So do you agree with my complaints or not? That's the crux of it. I don't really care what you think of me, because in the end what you think of me won't get queues moving.

Taena, you seem like a really nice person, but I think I've addressed your arguments before. Let me recap for you real quick though?

1: Parts of the queue are moving, others have been stuck for almost a year. Since customs are the site's main feature, it's ridiculous that customs are what's screwing up, and customs ought to be a #1 priority. And yet.

Wait times should be countable in weeks at the extreme, but here we are counting months.

2: I'd rather the site fire Eve, hire someone for real money who actually can live off doing crystal check with the paycheck, and hare a working queue, than have someone who "works hard" and customs stuck for 6+ months.

3: They've been training new folk for 4+ months. That's roughly 16 weeks, or 112 days. %s are figured out using math - simple math, at that. Something fishy is going on.

I don't care what your gripe with Eve is - MY gripe is that you're being unecessarily rude and unpleasant. You're allowed to have any opinion you want on the site and on the custom queue, but if you want to state said opinion or see a change there are both nicer and more constructive ways to go about it. People are more likely to listen to your opinions if you learn to argue without insulting the people your adressing.

Maybe a rule about staying on topic in a newspost should be made...

Voluspa - Man...if you aren't capable of an argument besides "you're mean and I don't like that" then laugh, IDK what to tell you.

Take some of your own advice, man. Your opening statements to me pretty amounted to that straightforward directness you found so rude in me. I mean, you even resorted to cussing at me, which, if we can quantify this sort of thing, would probably be worse than anything I've called anyone else in this mess of a comments section. People are more lIkely to listen to you if yo learn to argue without insulting the people you're addressing. Why didn't you try to be more constructive?

Because it wouldn't work, right?

That was you, right? The bad arguments are starting to blur together.

Well, obviously it doesn't.

Hello, I am the first one that you used that “insult” against, and since you claimed to not know who I am allow me to start off with what makes me authorized to post the information I am going too. I have been on Staff for several years; I have been managing the TSP queue on my own since shortly after Eve took over the Custom Queue, at the start of the New Year I have taken over all of the metal queues, and I have been working side by side with Eve since she took on the queue. I am her unofficial Custom second in command, I help her make judgments based on *themed*custom creations and Genus Change items. (which, btw, is the only time that voting for if something is acceptable comes into play)

Now to address your concerns: Yes, a few queues are several behind and there are reasons for this, whether they are good or bad reasons is not up for either of us to decide as that is simply a matter of opinion and opinions and angry words will not make any of the queues move faster. However, very shortly, these queues are going to be fixed and caught back up. Eve was thrown into this position and has had to figure out how to do several of the queues on her own, because she had not been permitted time to finish her training due to Graymare’s wrist injury causing her to leave the position abruptly. It has been a long and bumpy road to try to compare different methods to pre-judged pets in order to recreate how Gray did it, for consistencies sake.
You are complaining about it taking 4 months to train 3+ helpers, but this information is incorrect. Eve said 4 months ago that she wanted to get helpers not that she did get them. She only recently got helpers (excluding me and one other) about a month ago after going through the process of figuring out if these helpers were trustworthy with the task and possessed the proper instruments to do the Custom Checks. So it has only taken about 1 month to train 2 more helpers, and there is a minimum of 5 others being trained but due to a lot of schools having tests in this time, it has delayed their training.

You criticize Eve for creating the Pearlfish item instead of “Doing her job”, however it took her less than an hour to create the adorable little fish, and she is permitted to actually play the game when she gets a chance. Which, yesterday when she released the custom she also accepted 50+ customs. If she were to work on custom queues 24/7 she would have a meltdown like all of her predecessors before her. Regarding the pearlfish item being release VIA news post, when an item is released publicly in the trash shop, no matter the item it goes into a news post.

The custom % is very nitpicky, is it annoying? Sometimes, yes. I am an artist as well as a moderator, I have been on several site teams, so I know firsthand how it can be annoying. However, I have not experienced this decrease in PSD sales as you mention, the only exception being in Silver Sales which have never been great due to the cost of Silver portions. We had a loose system once before, perhaps you remember when Skitty was the custom admin? Some pets that were obviously silver would come back ruled as bronze, and pets that were bronze would be ruled as gold. Eve and Graymare have been completely transparent with how they do things, there is even a KB article so users can do it themselves.

You want Eve to be fired, and the site hire someone for a liveable wage? I am unsure if you understand how much goes into running a site, or where any of the sites funds even go too. Not to mention, in the US most places require at least $15/an hr to survive, and they still wouldn’t be able to afford a proper place to live plus all the amenities.

Tl/DR: Yes queues are behind, this is being fixed. Eve has only been training people for about a month, the 4 months was taken out of context. Eve spent less than an hour drawing the pearlfish, she is allowed breaks between work. Custom % is nitpicky, but it’s needed or we end up with a bunch of things being eyeballed and that doesn’t help anyone. Site can’t afford to hire someone at a liveable wage.

Now, this argument has gone on long enough, and several users are border line violating ToS with slander and attacking users and staff alike.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to PM me, any further comments from any side of this argument may be met with official action.

Kaiyo (#489) thank you for your post. It does help make a lot of things more clear. It's great to hear that more people are being trained to help with the custom queues. I'm sure it will help a lot with these issues. I know there has been a lot of calls for more breeding artists too which will help with all those queues as well.

Thank you again to Eve and every one else helping with the customs queue. Even if they take a while to get through, most users do appreciate your hard work and dedication to helping the site grow and prosper.
