litwick (#7410), Zzzzzz.

You're the one who originally posted it here? A user made an item and you're throwing a fit and dragging an unneeded word-vomiting argument to an otherwise nice news post.

I have read the Tumblr version and watched it go down on both sites, and am not really interested in either side. What reason is there to drag it out like this? Are you bored?

Ok so I get the fish thing now. I don't personally think it is petty for her to turn an insult that someone levied at her , into something cute. I also don't have a custom in queue but when I did enter a custom it was declined pretty quickly with an adequate explanation as to why it was declined. I imagine it would be rough to run a site. Heaven knows I don't have the patience for it. This site seems to have a very active set of mods and admin. They add new content at a near continuous rate. Also it seems like we are all here by choice. I love it here and haven't run into issues so my experience has been good. For those that have a bad experience on here, it seems like it would be easier to just move on of you don't care for the responses that have been recieved. Personal opinion of course. I would never tell someone to leave.

jazmyn -

In what situations does a pearlfish enter the general conscious in a day-to-day situation. Really.

Thus, occam's razor, Eve created a pearlfish item because for some reason she's still thinking about that time I called her friends pearlfish, and not because of some convoluted process of "completely forgot about argument but then remembered pearlfish for some reason, without remembering the associated drama."

It also doesn't mitigate the fact that my complaints on queue speed, custom nitpickiness, and general staff condescension are still valid.

But, as you said, you aren't interested or invested in the issues at hand. Obviously. That's why you felt the need to comment at me, right?

(It also seems to me a little suspect that you're on me for "word vomit" when people have posted much longer, much less well-articulated arguments in the comments than me. There's a comment here where a TL;DR is almost as long as the post it's supposed to be summarizing. But hey.)

I even put in a TL;DR for you. Don't tell me that effort was wasted.

Rinoa, you seem very nice, but also kind of new. I don't blame you for your opinion, because, outwardly, that IS how the site presents itself.

However, your argument is almost entirely based in personal anecdote. That's actually a logical fallacy, because, unfortunately, you really only can speak for yourself.

Having been around a while, and especially having hung with people who have been around longer than me, I can tell you for a fact that several users and several queues have been waiting 6+ months, with extreme cases approaching a year.

I've also compiled, without naming names, several stories of artists being fed up with how the % system seems to ride on staff's whims. There's also the fact that everyone selling PSDs seems to note a slow decline in sales.

Fact: my arguments are valid. Queue wait times are ridiculous and whatever they're trying now isn't exactly working.

(An addendum because I seem to have created a misunderstanding - what's petty is not the "reclaiming," but rather, that offsite drama has been dragged onsite, and publicized, at that. At the very least, it's unprofessional.)

litwick (#7410),

You make some really odd references. .-. To be honest (even knowing what a real pearl fish is) the thought of a cute little fish shaped like a pearl is nice. I suppose I'm not really understanding why you are so upset that someone took an insult and turned it into something cute for the site. Yes, I am FULLY aware that the original pearl fish is a sea cucumber buttsucker.

On to my original point though. As Rinoa said, why complain and keep putting yourself back in the situation that upset you in the first place? I'm not telling you to leave because you obviously have a reason to keep coming back here. Not even I am willing to invest that much of my patience into this site anymore, and I've put a lot of work into it.

As a general TL;DR :

Making a cute item for a literal poo eating fish is ok. Why come back to something that angers or upsets you?

So if I got this right, you litwick (#7410) insulted Eve offsite and is now offended that an item appears onsite that reminds you of that insult, even though she did not point anyone's attention to you (you did that very well, yourself though, by just sounding utterly rude from post one). So because you insultyed her offsite you now feel the need to insult her onsite as well, and you keep insulting Eve for not managing the site well enough in spite of the fact that she's not the owner of the place? If you think they need to hire more people shouldn't you complain to the person who has the authority to hire them?

I'm not saying some queues aren't slow - it's one reason I don't care to get involved in breedings - but for your other complaints and how you deliver them it seems to me that you're the one who's petty, immature and childish. And did I mention rude?

Pardon my "french" but it seems those pearlfish got up your *ss not Eve's...

Oh, that. It's because it's like 8am, I just woke up, and I'm venting my family issues on online fora. Is that what you wanted to hear?

Your argument is entirely ad hominem, broski. What does it matter what my feelings are when, again, my argument is completely valid?

Time and time again I'm met with arguments and rebuttals and counters that rely not on refuting my actual points but on trying to find issue with me. Ignoratio elenchi, bruh, you're missing the point of my comments and attacking little loose side fringes that don't matter.

Answer me straight: do you think it's right that people have been waiting almost a year on customs?

Do you think it's fine that custom % is so nitpicky that staff has once "voted" on whether or not to let something pass?

Do you think it's strange that 3 helpers have taken more than four months to train?

To be honest, I actually don't care as much about the item as you seem to think I do - rather, it's indicative of a prevailing attitude staff has, and THAT is what I take issue with.

litwick (#7410), Have a shot with me and chillax. XD Nothing is worth fussing over this much. If you have a custom waiting that long, talk to Slash.

litwick (#7410) While it may be frustrating that some customs take longer than others to pass (which seems to be specific custom makers like silver crystals / potions / holiday themed makers) the queue does move. Slow but it moves. I think the oldest one I have waiting right now was from October.

As said by others Eve does this service for the site without compensation. So while it does take a while, the queue does move. And as they are trying to train new people to help with the queue, I would expect that actually makes the queue go slower, so that the newer members of the team are able to examine and ask questions about the customs they are working with.

I know myself, I am glad that Eve is working on the customs, because if she wasn't there would be no one doing it and no customs would come out of the queue at all, ever.

Yes it sucks when it takes 6 months + for stuff to pass, but more common crystals (especially metals or mermaid purse) generally are out within 24 hours of being submitted.
