LGBT Event - Artists Needed!

Site Update

An LGBT event is in the works! It's scheduled for next year but we hope to make it the biggest LGBT event we've had onsite so far, so we're getting started early. If you would like to contribute, please check out these threads:

LGBT HA Items
LGBT Pet Designs
LGBT Items

Pet artists or HA artists interested in taking on site pet lists for the event outside of these threads, feel free to contact me with your offer. Depending on how many people participate in making content, we might be able to get the event rolling for June Pride Month instead of next year. It's up to YOU!

A few quick questions. I was gonna send this via PM but I figured maybe others are confused or curious. idk. I don't think I will be saying anything offensive... and if so. it is completely accidental, I'm not good with words sometimes. I most likely wrote sometthing and meant another if you see something offensive D:

How is Intersex a sexuality? I thought it was a psychical thing upon birth? Is it different from Hermaphrodite? How?

What is the difference between Neutrios and Non-Binary and Agender. From what I read Neutriois (omg. spellcheck y u fail me like this) is like the big category and non-binary and agender would fall under it.. But even then I'm unsure of the difference between agender and non-binary.... and I'm not sure what non-binary means... as how it is not binary as I'm not sure how a person is binary.. or what binary is xD;;

I looked up a lot of stuff when trying to figure out all the genders of aywas pets.. but ended up getting frustrated as it almost seemed like some were the same as others and some seemed more like sexes (physical stuff) than genders... so I didn't go much further lest I just get more confused... (I'm easily confused and being confused is super frustrating.. especially it it happens to one so frequently.. like me.. 'orz)

Is there a resource other than gender wiki.... something more professional? That has to exist right? Gender studies classes were around at least since 2007... that is when I took my intro class. I never got to finish it though as I had to leave school for end of the semester for family matters... so I just scraped the top of what was described as third gender when I had to leave... so I'd figure that some of the professors of these classes must have written stuff... this is also important because I am never afraid to butt heads and it hard to say things and my source being tumblr or a "fan"-wiki (not official).

that is more like hearing stuff from a peer than authority. And some people really need an authoritative figure to even consider some things... And they are not necessarily really bad people.. Just raised a certain way... So it is especially needed that a sense of authority is there since parenting and/or schooling which led to such negative beliefs is done with authority. And while peer counseling works for many (and, judging from experience sometimes productive debates that are peer to peer go "ok", but I never see the long run outcome so yep they might just be bullpooping they learned anything from it all ). Some others are super stubborn though and sometime it is because I'm only in my low/middish 20s and these are middle-aged/elderly people being buttmunches so they disregard anything I say... like in a "what does this stupid kid really know?" sorta way .. it pisses me off. like age doesn't always equate to brains... >_>

(and poop. it is past rollover and I just remembered I forgot to play graverobber yesterday XD; )

Tequila Mockingbird (#64472)
First- I am soooo not an authority.

I am an uneducated 30something Bisexual(You would label me PANsexual, using modern labels) Intersexed (I choose to ID as CIS in almost ALL venues) Bi-Polar woman.

I am just another peer. (A non-degree having one, no less)

But I CAN tell you my thoughts on it all.

I'll be quite honest- I think a LOT of these labels are slight variations on the main themes, they are slight changes, and the labels MEAN different things to different people inside the community that uses them to ID themselves AND the larger Queer community as a whole.

Hermaphrodism, has an element of fetishism, and the "true hermaphrodite" that is brought to mind when someone says "hermaphrodite" is basically a uh- Futinari (Spelling?), the idea that a fully formed male and female sex are both present.

Which just (almost) never flonqing happens IRL.

And a LOT, and I do mean a LOT of intersexed folks were fed BS "facts" on how "abnormal" they were, or were treated as if they had overcome some horrifying birth defect, some rare one in a million freak accident of nature...

When the numbers are 1 in *500*.

So... yeah. CRAPTONS of baggage for some intersexed folks. SO, breaking it up, sectioning it out, adding a little line in the sand and saying "We're Intersexed." instead of being a fringe group of a type of hermaphrodism.

But please, please do outside research, because, if it isn't apparent, I am absolute CRUD at the whole, uh, being in an IRL community thing.

I'm absolute rubbish at it. And I've had some bad experiences with coming out as BI instead of Lesbian in LBGTQ spaces, and had lesbian friends turn vicious over it... if they knew that I was at least partially NOT fully female?

That despite IDing as Cis Female, I was actually INTERSEXED? Holy crap, I'd be honestly worried about being beaten... (One bragged of being a "Gold Star" and would not nice tease her partner over the fact that she'd ever kissed a boy)

The whole violence from within thing is real, and the label Bisexual, when I first discovered it, meant being attracted to more than just one sex.

That was it. Not just 2 sexes, it meant more than one.

But some toxic cis-centric folks made other bisexuals uncomfortable, so to distance themselves, they said "We're PANsexual! All! Not just 2!" and get (rightfully) very upset if they get lumped in with the Bisexuals still.

(Which, I struggled to find the label BI-sexual and had finally fully embraced it for a few years when all this pansexual movement started and I was left in the lurch, BUT! that is what is needed for many folks to feel properly represented, so, full support, go forth and plant the PAN flag. XD)

And the thing you will wind up discovering, the more you look into the history of the groups, is that Official is Regional. It's little groups, and movements making big changes, and it's a few large groups forming parent groups to bring it all together.

Queer, MOGAI, MOZAI, LBGT+, LBGTQIA+, all are the same basic idea. Everyone who is a sexual or gender minority DESERVES representation, and to know they're not alone.
To have a safe spot.

Some of the labels, are the difference between Polysexual (Non-binary attracted to all sexes and genders) or Pansexual (Person who is attracted to all sexes and genders.)

It's a shade, a filter, to create a safe space for someone that feels that they need a more restricted space to be safe.

Any place Sex, gender and sexuality intersect is going to create those shades, because every problem we see with males vs females, and the gender gaps, and the race gaps, does NOT magically go away in the Queer community. If anything, because we are constantly bombarded with outside hate and toxicity, we are MORE prone to sniping and petty moments.

Because we start to feel safe enough to let down our shells, and when something upsets us, psychologically, we react, we get defensive, because our shells were down, so it really HURT.

Because Families always hurt the most, and dig the deepest, and for MANY many many Q youth, the MOGAI family IS their family. It IS their only support structure. SO any comment from that side is the same as a sibling or a parent digging in a verbal jab.

And WOW, uh, I have feels on this, but I am soooo not an authority- anyone who is a for real authority or who has links to a for real authority, please come help out?

Sorry to info dump!

Er I missed part of what you'd said- some I can clarify for you-

Intersexed is the SEX of the body, the male and female parts, are partially present, often with the "enlarged" tissue being removed and a surgery to correct any malformations of the rest of the "assisted Female"'s (As one really trying to be helpful person put it) main sex.

GENDER is separate from SEX, and as many Intersexed individuals have their own sexes, genders, sexualities, romanticisms, etc, beyond and on top of the physical fact of their being intersexed at birth.

As to the gender Binary, all persons are assumed (by the medical community, and most of society) to be male or female, and that is the only two options.
AKA, binary. XD

Okay, it is weeeellll past bed time for me, again. so, bed I go!

Er, and Marginalized Orientations, Gender identities And Intersexed is what MOGAI stands for, as it's a new term that's coming into use to not have alphabet soup that still manages to leave some orientations, sexes and genders out.

I am making a muddle of this- but anywho.

As for a resource- the CDC personally vets these- some are outdated, but
https://www.cdc.gov/lgbthealth/youth-resources.htm
Is a great starting point for "Authority" on the queer experience and what everything means.

It IS, I need the core 8 to get at least 1 entry each before I open the scope, though, so I CAN shift focus outward, and split up groups... does that make any sense?
