Terms of Service Update

Site Update

We have updated our Terms of Service to reflect the fact that Aywas now uses AdSense to serve advertisements (section: Privacy Policy). At the moment we have one ad, which will show at the bottom of the page, but one will be added to the left side as well.

Following the recent PBC discussion, we came to a conclusion: the users understandably do not want to pay more for breeding coins, but the artists want to be paid more. As a result, we came up with a way to pay artists more without raising the price of coins--serving advertisements that help bridge that financial gap. You can read more about this discussion here.

Aywas is committed to blacklisting ads that are offensive or behave in ways that aggravate or diminish the player's experience. To report an advertisement, go to this thread in the Help forums and we will investigate the situation and block the ad if needed.

By starting our ad serving now, we'll have a half month to see how much revenue we can expect from this, and can better inform our artists what to expect in terms of ad-paid bonuses monthly.

I am fine with this lol. Except my ads are extremely boring and I have been looking at toys all morning. @-@;

Though I'm no fan of internet advertising I'm intimately familiar with how necessary they can be in business models. Whitelisting Aywas. Hope this helps, and thanks for trying to make them non obtrusive. -nomad

All of the RSPB ads X3 I'm already a member lol. I whitelisted the site, hopefully this can help the site. Shame on anyone whining, this is for the artists and coders. - L

Lubird (#47377) I'm welcomed to voice my opinion. Yes, I joined the first day that Aywas opened & have been playing ever since. :) I also recall staff saying ads wouldn't ever be a part of Aywas. I do think artists should be paid more, but do believe that staff could've come up with alternatives to raise more revenue. Of course, that can be solved easily for me -- I don't breed & luckily have an adblock in place to keep from seeing the ads BD.

Yeah, I don't see how anyone could oppose this. Those who don't want ads on aywas can just get adblocker, and for those who don't mind them, it's a free way for them to support the site.

I personally like the option to give a cent or so to the site in exchange for a little banner at the bottom which I'll rarely see.

Kris ♥ Juney (#351) Lol never said you weren't welcomed to voice your opinion, I was just wondering why you'd be against it. And I also wasn't around for staff to say that ads wouldn't be a part of Aywas but some things call for change. Anyways, I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, I was genuinely wondering why someone who'd been around since day one would be so disappointed is all. Adblock on, bud, I'm not here to make you uncomfortable. ovob

PBCs weren't around when the site opened either. In my opinion, this is excellent! -blu
