Site Update

Today has been declared Help-a-Pet Day!
Brought to you by Chianya (#12264) and the power of a Slashbot.

This time of year can be especially rough for animals, particularly in areas experiencing harsh winter climates.
Many animals find themselves as unwanted pets from the holidays, are strays seeking warmth and food, or are in a shelter overrun with other pets looking for a forever home. Therefore, Chianya is bringing a week-long event to Aywas in order to help spotlight the cause and support animals in need!

Donation Drive
Aywas is sponsoring a donation drive to help the efforts of organizations that rescue and care for any and all animals. As a thank you for your generosity to an animal-focused shelter/charity of your choice, we have set up the following tiers according to Chianya's specifications:

The Pawprint Dog Bed is a custom creator that will enable you to upload your very own Shelter Dog silver pet with up to 30% edits. Click the image to download the PSD.
As this pet is a donation reward, these lines cannot be created with SCCs, Silver Potions, etc.

* Donation tiers are listed in USD amounts, but you may donate in another currency as long as it is at least the USD equivalent amount.

How to Donate
1. Choose a shelter or animal charity of your choice. Any organization that helps, cares for, or rescues animals from cats and dogs to exotic pets and even wildlife is acceptable. We are very flexible on this!

2. Check to see if the organization has a minimum donation amount.

3. Donate the amount of your choice.

4. Send a receipt or proof of donation to me at [email protected]. Please include your ID number and ensure I can see the amount and organization, but feel free to block out any personal details. A screenshot of your webpage receipt or forwarding me the receipt the shelter/charity e-mails you would suffice!

5. Receive your rewards! :3

If you currently volunteer at a shelter/animal charity:
Aywas would like to extend our gratitude to you by offering you the full set of rewards above.
Simply email me at [email protected] with some sort of proof of your volunteer status and I'll get you taken care of! c: Please be sure to include your ID.

If you are not in a position to donate but still want to show your support for the cause, we have filled the BP Shop with animal-related goodies!

You will find 11 pets to collect (including the Kodama and the three pets above), along with some HA wearables.

Each box of the six above contains one corresponding shirt that says "I <3 Dogs," "I <3 Cats," "I <3 Animals," etc. and each is a different color and style. You can see how all of them look through the Preview Wardrobe option!

We also have four "wearable" accessories that fit in the bottom right corner of your HA box to add some scenery! You can also check these out with the Preview Wardrobe option.

The drive will be running until January 25th at 11:59 p.m., so all donations need to be made by this time, as well as all goodies snagged from the shop!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact myself or Chianya (#12264).

We would also love to hear about your shelter/animal charity experiences, and if you have a suggestion for one to support, you are welcome to share it in the comments below.

As a site full of animal lovers, Aywas is very excited to be able to host a drive like this. <3
Thank you for your support!

I love I when Aywas's try's to help feed the poor hungry animals, buy raising money and basically it's a no lose situation. Because you still get something in return! <333

This is wonderful though sadly I barley have enough money for food until February 3rd=(

Has there been any thought to extending this drive? As the end of the month tends to be rough on a lot of people and a week isn't much time to even try to scrape up funds.

She was a mean girl lol Didn't take anything from anyone, had no trouble bopping a male cat twice her size. She was the queen of the house ;_;

Uhg, timing. I just donated for Christmas (or rather, asked for a donation to be given rather than receiving money or a present) and can't do so again because I lack the funds. Still, so glad to see a shelter event~. :3 Remember to try and pick no-kill shelters if you can and are looking to support cats and dogs!

Thank you Chianya (#12264) and Aywas for doing this. Having been a volunteer with the same Rescue here in NW Pa. for going on 12 years I know first hand how important this type of thing is,especially to the "smaller" Rescue's that receive no funding other than donations and fund raisers.

This is so exciting. I can now donate to Save the Frogs! and get cute pets in the process

I volunteered in an animal shelter over the summer before and every holiday during my freshman year of college. Unfortunately, it was a really corrupt place. The owner did not care about the animals and enjoyed killing them. I worked the whole summer and school holidays so that I could adopt one of the cats. The week my Mom agreed to get the cat to surprise me, she told the owner she would be there on Friday to pick her up. On Thursday, the owner had her put to sleep. R.I.P. Mochi. I still can't see your picture without crying.
