Security Warning

Site Update

Since a lot of us are artists and this is an artist community, I want you guys to know about this.

About a week ago, Adobe suffered a massive hacking breach, where hackers gained access to over 150 million (estimated) usernames, emails, and passwords. Adobe is the company that puts out Photoshop, and a lot of us use it.

You should take the time to change all of your passwords on any site you might use if you have been an Adobe customer. LastPass has a free service that lets you check to see if your e-mail was on Adobe's servers, thus your information could have been compromised in the attack.

My email was on the list, so I needed to go change all my passwords. Please be sure you're safe and change all of yours too, because 150 million people compromised could include you and your friends.

Correction: The breach occurred sometime before October 5th. I received an email from Adobe then regarding this to reset my password. I had reset my password then. ouob

I WAS on the hit list (lord knows how or why), and this News post was the first I heard of it, there was no Adobe-based email. They seem to be promoting a password service, oddly - anyway, I followed their istructions for changing the Adobe password I had no idea I had to begin with, and my main one for good measure...not that I really HAVE anything worth hacking, lol.

My old one and my moms were on there. I don't even know what I've got associated with the old email aside from a neopet account. :/

hmm. anyone else who has no known account on Adobe, see if you come up in their checker, all right?...just out of cynical curiosity.

And FTR, I don't have ANY kind of art program, and neither does my mom So you should go looking no matter what in case you use adobe for things for general computer usages.

I entered an email address that I am 100% certain I did not sign up for anything Adobe-related with, and it came back saying it was one of the ones that was compromised. >.>
(I've used said email ONCE in it's entire existence, because I needed a professional-sounding one for a job I had applied for.) I'm absolutely certain it was never used with Adobe. Which kind of makes me really wary of that LastPass thing now....

Other than Shockwave - which is handed out like kleenex - I HAVE no Adobe associations...but I came up anyway...

It looks to me as though all legitmately affected were notified by Adobe at the outset...and this password company is trying to cash in on the panic...though I DID try another addie I use infrequently and it did not claim it was compromised. Hm.
