i think some of the complaint about the issue (at least from me) is that so many people are saying, oh, but the alt can be edited so much better...well, unfortunately, not all of us make customs...
many of us enjoy collecting the explore/site pets and since you can "just make customs" with the alt lines, then there's no reason to swap out the explore/site image for the alt image if anyone who wants to make customs with the alt lines can already do so

@rhavennah: However, many of us who like both site pets and customs flat out dont like the New lines. I honestly refuse to catch new line Melos from adventure. And I'm sure there are tons of other people feel the same way. I joined when the new lines were already in place and I've never liked them. And I know a lot of the users older than myself didn't want the change in the first place. A lot of them are rejoicing at the chance to get rid of the lines they didn't want in the first place. :/

Ditto Jolts � Espy - I would like to be able to capture/collect explore Melos again. I think the only reason I have any new lines in my lair is from zaps and easter eggs and such, and I fully intend to zap/potion over them again. I was here when the original old line Melos were the default and was one of the many who voted against the new line Melo.

i understand that...but in looking at the older Melo lines compared to the "new" lines, they really aren't that different...i had to really compare side by side to see the differences. the alt Melo looks like an oddly drawn Oske, and while i do like Oskes, we already have them. i don't need another pet that looks like them
unfortunately, it seems that no matter which way it goes, those who like the one, will stop collecting if the other is chosen

the small changes between old and new make a large difference though
the old and the alt keep the same style even if its a different pose whereas the new one looks pillowy and gross

I don't understand how people are saying the Alt Melo looks like an Oske. Other than pointy ears and facing the same direction, I see NO similarity. There's only so much individuality you can give to generic canine/felines. And from what I can understand, the Melo was original supposed to cover BOTH of those categories before the Oske showed up, so it's reasonable that they would have similarities. But I really don't think it looks any more like and Oske than the ORIGINAL OLD LINE Melo.

It's surprising to see the people who are on the new melo side so passionate. Most of you guys don't look like you were around for the original melo revamp, which was a mess and barely anyone was satisfied with the result. Now we have this hoard of new players (or at least after that point, you're probably not so new anymore) that are used to the new melo just like we were used to the old melo. It's strange how times change.

I'm voting for the current Melo lines, simply because it IS what I'm familiar with, plus I love the "pillowy" effect it has. That being said, I wasn't a fan of the Alt Imay Melo lines to start with, I did think that it looked a bit too cartoonish, but everytime I arrive on Aywas I see the poll, so I pause and look at both options, and now I'm of the opinion that while I will prefer the current Melo lines, I don't think switching to the Alt lines will be a bad thing! o3o I haven't seen the old lines ever, so I can't really offer an opinion on those.
I do see what people say how the Alt line pose is very much like an Oske, in the essence. True, there are some major differences in the look alone, but in essence, they feel much the same. But for me, I could care less about that. I think that'd be cool, honestly.
In the end, I don't mind which option is pushed through, I like them both. But if the Alt lines do go through, I'd like to see a slightly fluffier tail. Doesn't have to be longer, or thicker, just a bit of a line change on its current tail to make it fluffier.
