A few breeding changes...

Site Update

Figured I would newspost this since it's important and I have something else to report to make a valid announcement.

Raised the price of Fertility Potions from 8 to 12 GP, because there's near 1/3 of LBC breedings assigned out with them used currently, and I feel that they need a price raise to compensate with the GP in the system. They seem very easy to get and are used really often, and artists are having a hard time keeping up.

Any future price changes will be announced, but please understand the change keeps up with demand and queue load.

Scratchcard coin wins no longer give out gold Breeding Coins, only Metal Breeding Coins now. This was not to give an unfair advantage to people or anything, it was simply because BCs were meant to be a donation/rare contest privilege... and we'd like to keep it that way.

If you want to comment on this newspost I'll leave it open, but please comment appropriately and don't be disrespectful. If you only intend to rant there are appropriate forums, but if you have constructive commentary you can voice it. Nothing we admins ever do is to directly hurt users or make the game impossible, it's always to balance it and make it fair with compromising and suggestions when needed.

I never got a Breeding Coin from scratchcards but if they really were so commonly won I understand the change. But why Metal Breeding Coins? Wouldnt that lower the price for them drastically if they become as common as the BC wins? Maybe some other Coins? Not LBCs since theyre also commonly used. Maybe EBCs? With them being AD its really Rare to come by an ABC and they have a break percentage too. So even if they are won from Scratchcards more often, it wont guarantee success?
About the Fert. Potions. I totally agree. Although I irks me, I can definetely see a reason for this.

@Kiritora, I'd agree, but it seems the artists that do breedings enjoy their job or they small rant about it because it's a hard pair "I can't draw this!" or whatever. I find a lot of people either are good at what they're currently drawing(maybe like cats, or dogs, whatever), but then they struggle with stuff like humans, armor, etc. But when you're a breeding artist, depending on what you do, you may have to draw things you can't. so TLDR: artists need to be well rounded for that sort of position imo. I'd apply for that and maybe scc, but I honestly don't see em "hiring" so often, so it's a turn off in many ways. Whatever aywas needs to do to fix its breeding list.

And I love how people are complaining because they don't know how to benefit themselves. This is a game. Whether you buy or get whatever riches in this game= a want not a NEED. I have a ton of gp I could have bought with stuff, I could draw things for days to sell if I wanted, but no. I hardly do any of that stuff, I don't have over 100 customs or over 20 breedings... You could argue "but getting customs/breedingz are part of da game!". No, customs and stuff like that are a luxury. In fact, this site doesn't have much context wise so maybe everyone thinks customs=everyone. Maybe you do want to play that way, fine, but it's either you try to do something on site or pay with rl cash. And unfortunately, most virtual pet sites=artists make money. Unfair? Yeah, most likely, not gonna deny that. But people got skills, they use skills, so what? It's either that or someone figure out a way so that everyone has an equal chance. If aywas gave out everything for free, this site wouldn't work. I'm sorry, but I don't see any reason to complain over a game. Imo if I didn't like how a game worked, I'd leave or not log on as much.

I support the raising of the Fertility Potion. But I don't like the Scratch Card one... I think it was suppose to give us a random coin, like the description says. Not to mention that SC are more boring now, lol

Not a big fan of this change. It's almost to the point you have to donate to get where you want now it seems. Someone already brought up that everytime something nice is in and people began to work towards playing it and understanding how to obtain something, a change comes in later that makes it harder for new players to catch up. There is going to be a serious gap in the "elite" and the new players on Aywas. It shouldn't be like this, new players shouldn't have to feel like they are going to have to devote months upon months, when older players could have played a month and gotten to where they are now basically. If the game isn't in beta anymore, then changes should be announced before taking place. It's a bit unprofessional in honesty. I can see the argument, but if you guys were aware this was a problem before coming to this decision you should have spoken up about it so people could prepare better and work harder those last mins.

Well, honestly, I understand the changes...
The thing is, I almost always use predicts on my breeding, so if you think about it, I am now paying more to have more work to myself... And that seems unfair...
If I may suggest something, I think increasing reward for using predicts to compensate for these changes would be nice, after all, you are justifying the new price due to the artists work overload, it's only fair that those who DON'T use the site artists are compensated for it yes?

I'm cool with the changes, they make sense. ^^ I am a little concerned about the queue though, it does seem like the poor artists are drowning under it... why not hire more people? I obviously don't know what you know, but it seems absolutely necessary. If there isn't enough interest from qualified artists, can I suggest increasing the compensation? I looked into applying for BC, but there was no way I was going to put that much work in for so little payment. I cant imagine I'm alone in that sentiment. I know you guys are working your tails off, but I think you're fighting a losing battle without more people! Anyway thats just my two cents, good luck!!

@gabsph I agree with you wholeheartedly! I 95% of the time do my own LBC predicts, and that would be nice. Or have some sort of system where if a fertility potion is used, we get the difference back if we are submitting predicts.
