Lilies and Cats

Site Update

For those of you celebrating Easter with lily flowers this weekend, and you have cats, please be careful and review this resource on lily poisoning in cats.

Fake lilies look just as lovely and won't be dangerous to your cats. Be careful!

Thanks for posting this as a reminder and/or for people who simply don't know.

We usually use fake stuff because of my allergies (even if I'm not proven allergic to something because history suggests I probably would be), so it's not that hard for us to avoid this sort of thing for the sake of the little fur covered brats (two kitties and a bunny) that live here.

Wow, I didn't know that lilies were that dangerous to cats. I'll have to keep an eye on mine - he doesn't usually chew on plants, but there's lilies planted all around my house.

I did not know this! Makes me glad my sister ripped out all the lilies in the garden by accident because she thought they were weeds xD

Thanks a ton for posting this. I adore lillies, but not nearly as much as I do my cats. I'll have to keep this in mind for the future, it's new info to me.

I had no idea... I only knew about tomato plants because they are from the nightshade family.

Wow. Thank you. My dad was thinking about picking up some lilies tomorrow for my mom, but I don't think he will be after seeing that article.
