Bank CDs have been tweaked to address the inflation of BP caused by the amount of return coming from CDs. Hopefully you will all find these changes fair.

1. The original 7-day CD was changed into a 14-day CD, and its return changed to 2%
2. The 30-day CD's return was changed to 6%
3. The max one can invest into the top three CDs is now 50,000,000 BP
4. A new CD was added, 7-day, with a 5% return rate and a max investment of 1,000,000.
5. The largest CD, the 90-day CD, did not have its return rate changed, but rather the others were changed to scale according to it.

The GP CDs were not changed.

I will whine but I agree it had to be done. What I do think should be fixed is what was broken since the start... the fact that you get less interest the longer you put the money away. It makes no sense to use a 90 day CD, because you'd make nearly 3 times as much money with 3 30 day CD's instead. The idea is to reward people for freezing their BP for so long, not make it so no one with a bit of math sees is not worth it.

Well, that's the end of me using CDs :/ Don't have enough funds to make it worth my while anymore. Oh well.

I think this decision was made for the good of the site. I really don't think that Slash sits around, dreaming up changes that are sure to be wildly unpopular just to annoy us ;) All these changes are made to make the site function more effectively so that it can continue to exist and we can continue to enjoy it. There seems to be a strong opinion lately that we 'deserve' free stuff- which is what all the accrued BP was essentially. It was fun while it lasted, but let's all just move on...

@FluffyHorror: Hobby, pass time, game...call it whatever you like, fact is that if you can't manage to play it like most of the community does then perhaps you are at the wrong place. I simply don't get the reasoning of the 'casual players' that are complaining...you expect to be catered to simply because you don't have the time to play like others do? Ummm how does that make ANY sense??? There should be SOME kind of drawback from being a 'casual player'...considering you aren't doing much and simply stop by to pass a few minutes.

I would totally agree with the complaints if the change took away some sort of way of income that involved investing your time...but this simply doesn't fall into that sort of category. As many have said its BP out of thin air.

Also making money involves being innovative...I see people making money by other interesting ways...such as making profile codes, playing certain games for people (pokemon), providing services for others (leveling up aywas)..etc.

"5. The largest CD, the 90-day CD, did not have its return rate changed, but rather the others were changed to scale according to it."
I'm sure others mentioned it already but... to scale? what? not true. --- 30 day CD = 6% ... 90 day CD = 15% 30*3=90 but 6*3>15 so you need to make that over 18% to make it worthwile. ***ALSO GP IS BROKEN IN THE SAME WAY. I'm sure it is not as abused as bp was, but 3 30 days makes 15% while a 90 day only makes 8%. you get practly double the profit from doing that. If you're going to 'fix' it you may as well fix ALL of it...

Sol's pretty much right. One of the things I've always loved about Aywas is that we give out so many things for free, have so many events, etc. But if you put very little time/effort into the game (either because of lack of time or whatever) then you shouldn't be able to afford *all* the nice things in no time at all. You all keep talking about how you can make 50k a day just through dailies--that should be a pretty good amount of money. I remember when it was. The fact that it's not anymore shows how bloated and overinflated BP is.

But regardless of how slow you earn money, I don't think there's anything on Aywas right now that would take "years" to get. Customs aren't supposed to rain from the sky. I know the economy has been sick for a while and that cheap/worthless customs have been a thing, but as I'm sure some of you have picked up on, that wasn't really a sustainable way for the site to work. Nobody ever likes it when they start having to work for something that previously was no effort/free, but sometimes it's necessary. Just because something sounds appealing doesn't mean that it's not doing untold amounts of damage behind the scenes.

Eh I agree with God on this one. But I won't write a long winded post about it lol. Not worth it. I'll just have to give up on Aywas for a while, until things get better. I have too much stuff to do as it is.

This is a smart change. It is really comforting to see action towards balancing out the economy. For those that are complaining now: just think about the direction of the market and be grateful that it wont cost you an arm and a leg to afford anything. The numbers in your bank will look smaller, but you will be just as "rich" - each point will simply have more value. Do you prefer pennies or dollars?

The people who say CDs are useless are overreacting, I think. Even using just the 14 day one, with the max amount of BP - 50 mil - you would receive 1 million "free" BP every fourteen days. Five million if you have that much to spare. Yeah, having lots of "free" money is awesome and it lets you do a ton of things, but do you really feel accomplished when you get something you wanted by simply waiting for it? I support this change. I think it's a good compromise.

it's pointless to even use the CDs now. and the caps are stupid but whatever. i won't be using them anymore, sadly.

grinding explore isn't fun for making bp. and not everyone is an artist.
