Snake Solis

Pets

It's the 5th anniversary of Steve Irwin's death. It's strange how it's already been five years since he died... I still watch his show on Animal Planet, and he had always shown reptiles in a positive light, something we still need more of in the media.

In his memory I released some more snake-related Solis into Explore:

Did Steve Irwin inspire you?

When we watch Bindi we can see so much of her father in her. =)

I heard about his death over Habbo Hotel. Remember that site? I loved his shows because he loved all animals equally.

I liked him before his show got really stupid, and was still just about camera people fallowing him around as did his job. The latter version has him acting like a compete idiot with his face always right up in the camera, doing stupid, dangerous things just to show off, (which is what got him killed, of course)

Considering that I met him only a year before he died, and he was a childhood hero, yes, yes he did. Had fast reflexes too.

;_; I miss Steve soooooooooooooooooooooooo much! He inspired me to love animals and to take care of them. Because of what I watched from him, I was able to get my own cat to trust me when I found her on the streets. I watched an Episode where he got to their eye level and was able to get close to an animal. That's what I did to get my cat. I wish he didn't have to die.

I was inspired so much, that I wanted to go to Australia and work at the exact same zoo as him and maybe work with him, even if I was on the other side of the world. ._. But Alas, that will never happen.

I grew up watching Steve on animal planet. I don't think I'd have the same healthy respect or awe for reptiles (especially crocs) as I do now without him.

I love Steve. For whatever reason he was a very inspirational person, so yes, I'd say he has inspired me to love ALL kinds of animals including insects and reptiles.

Oh wow...5 years already? Steve Irwin was such a huge part of my life, he's the whole reason I want to work with animals, and the fact that he was an Aussie like myself was really inspiring. His amazing personality was allways so uplifting, such a shame he's no longer with us. Rest In Peace~
