Snake Solis

Pets

It's the 5th anniversary of Steve Irwin's death. It's strange how it's already been five years since he died... I still watch his show on Animal Planet, and he had always shown reptiles in a positive light, something we still need more of in the media.

In his memory I released some more snake-related Solis into Explore:

Did Steve Irwin inspire you?

I can't believe it's been five years... He was a brave and amazing person and it's sad he died the way he did. He's very much missed.

He died when I was... err... 8, and I cried my eyeballs out. I would always pretend I was out exploring, fnding reptiles and such. If I didn't watch his show when I was younger, I probably never would have gotten my dearest ball python I have today. Rest in Peace, Steve<3

I always wanted to travel to Australia to see him in person (and visit the zoo) Here we go again adventuring!

I'm pretty sure there is, or was a children's show hosted by one of his daughters, but it seemed to early to me to have a little kid doing what her dad did...Father passes away, get the next Irwin. It really ticks me off.
He WAS inspiring, and it feels like they desecrated something sacred.

I cant tell you how much this moves me! Steve Irwin inspired me so much, he inspired me to study biology, especially zoology and he teached me to not fear a single creature, but instead treat them with the respect they deserve.

He inspired my love of reptiles. He was a beautiful man who knew how to put animals that are normally looked down on in a wonderful light.

Although sticking your daughters head in an alligators mouth is pretty dumb.

Wow, has it really been 5 years? It seems like just yesterday when I heard the news. RIP Steve, you were a great man. <3

I wasn't inspired. But you know I really appreciated everything he did. My mum and I used to watch his show when ever it came on, even if it was a rerun. =w=

Five years? Wow, I still remember seeing it on the news. :( Growing up I always watched his show on Animal Planet, and he is part of the reason why I want to go into a career that works with animals.
