@ Scav: Awww, please don't take away chances at bigger prizes in the future. :(

@ All: I've actually seen both definitions quick frequently. In many art sites, I tend to see the more basic definition. However, in my art classes at school and professional sites, I have many times seen the definition of a sketch being a piece of art that is done by traditional (usually dry) media. Both definitions are used quite frequently so complaining that they weren't going by the definition is just silly in my opinion. Especially when sites like Wiki use both definitions.

It was also stated that the artist could choose the level of depth. Granted, this note came from a second person on Thursday, but it did come. I do think some clarification would be nice, but they didn't break their rules or anything.

And what's done is done anyways. As Scav said, complaining isn't going to change anything. Let's just all learn from this and move on, 'kay 'kay. :)

@ Schneemaehne: Mine? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound negative. >_< I do agree, all the pictures are amazing.

No, I meant mine! Sorry for the confusion. I posted the comment, got off to get myself something to drink and then saw that it sounds so negative... and because I couldn't find an edit-function I dared to double-post... I'm really sorry!

From what it seems, the 'big prize' isn't a factor in anyone's annoyance. If this had been a normal art gallery week, I would have had just the same reaction.
I understand that there are two definitions, but I'm a stickler for clarity in language and this theme was a disappointment on that count. Even something like 'Pencil Drawing' would have been much clearer.

That said, the drawings are very impressive and I'm sure whoever wins the markers will make better use of them than I would! :)

I voted for Aria because I just love the elegance and subtleties in her drawing of the velox, so I wanted to express my vote in terms of which piece I think is the 'best'... but I do hope Linae gets the copics. They really enhance a cartoony style like the one she has.

*Linai ... comments need an edit function.

... I also want to say I LOVE Flokyn's lysk. It's just *w* fantastic on so many levels. I can't even find a specific thing to point out because all of it is literally so awesome.
