"Aha!" The merchant looked pleased with himself, though he was now covered in a few smudges of oil. "Your efforts have been successful. With the pieces you all have collected so far, I managed to rig up a little something. The Robo-matic, as I am fondly calling it, is up and ready to go!"
With shattered pieces and parts from the old Mysterious Factory and with a little magic from indigenous Enchanted Forest plants you can now create beautiful new pets!

Here is the first batch of pets hot off the assembly line!
Pretty cool, yes? :3
"Robot Day" festivities will actually be going on for roughly a week.
You will have until March 16th at 11:59 PM to make these pets!
This is a relatively low-key event that gives us a nice opportunity to introduce shiny things while Yasu does fixes. :)
The Mysterious Factory location won't be appearing this time around since Famine is one evil reigning pony, but that's what the Robo-matic and Enchanted Forest are for!
We will be adding many more pets and items throughout the day as well as some raffles for cool prizes like a Ray Gun and Mind Control Helmet, so keep an eye out for that!
Happy Robot Day!

Robot day!
Site Update

After a year of being closed up and collecting dust, we've re-oiled our robot-making machines and are ready to roll out some new pets and items hot off the belts of the Mysterious Factory! Let's turn on the video camera and see if we can get a sneak peek at what's going on in there.

Hrm, that's strange, it seems we're receiving some interference, but from what?
...INCOMING!

W-what was that?

A cold, omnipotent laughter flooded the air as a sickly purple figure manifested out of thick, curling shadows.
Four hollow-sounding hooves clinked slowly across the floor as a metallic scent imbued the air. The smell was not of fresh aluminum or singed wires, it was not the smell of a well-used factory; rather, it was the distinct, coppery aroma of blood. Famine managed to look worse than usual, ripe with bruises and twisted joints.
"Did you really think you had seen the last of me? That your futuristic festivities were safe from my prowess because they utilize inorganic matter? My power has thus far been largely untapped, and I assure you that starvation does not limit itself to literal sustenance. Let's see how you cope with your robotic power supply being cut off."
With an audible snicker and a bit of a limp, Famine was consumed by the shadows it arrived in, retreating to its dark abyss.

From the looks of things, it appears as though the Mysterious Factory has gone dark, and I don't see any pets in sight. That certainly throws a wrench in our plans, now doesn't it? :c

"Do not despair, my friends!" The gold-clad factory merchant chuckled. "If there's one thing I know, it's that anything can be fixed and rebuilt."

"It looks like these bits and bobs are all that remain from the machines and robotic pets lost in the explosion. If my calculations are correct, they seem to be strewn about around in the Enchanted Forest. Egads!"
"Your mission is simple. Take your most valiant pet to the forest and collect as many of these lost pieces as you can. When you have collected enough as a community, I should be able to have the necessary parts to get at least one of our synthesizers and conveyor belts working again."

The explosion did a lot more than just damage the factory, however.

It seems that it also shook loose some metal pieces!
You should once more be able to obtain Iron and Silver pieces through your daily gameplay (and should have already been getting Gold).

In honor of Robot Day and the return of metal pieces, we are permanently adding these three new pets to the Metalsmithing Shop!

We had hundreds of pretty potions uniformly stocked and stored inside the Mysterious Factory, but it looks like the fumes and flames got to them before we could. :C Sorry!
The first potion you see is now known as Mysterious DNA. This is a breeding add-on compatible with Radioactive Breeding Coins/Pendants only! This mysterious looking potion tells the site artist to involve a third parent in your breeding. The third parent will be a random site-pet, and your baby will be a mix of all three. Talk about messing with crazy genetics! You can pick this up in the BP Shop, where it will permanently stock.
The green potion with the bubbling eye? That's Mutagenic Ooze. This is another breeding add-on compatible with Radioactive Breeding Coins/Pendants only! This potion gives a 100% guarantee of the offspring being a mutant. You can find this in the Premium Outlet, where it will permanently stock.
Both add-ons are subject to your breeding being successful!
After all, we're using some unstable items here! Use at your own risk.
Now hop off to the Enchanted Forest and collect those lost parts for our merchant friend!

Ittybitty Fixes!
Site Update

Ugh, you guys forgot about me again. ;____;
Sorry about that, Oakl! :C
You can now find Oakls as a dropdown genus option for Awesome Potions.

You can now move clothing directly into your wardrobe from your deposit box!
No more moving it to your inventory first, and then from your inventory to your wardrobe. Now that's just silly.

Yes, no, maybe so?
When you use an item with a confirmation screen and hit "no," you will now be redirected to the use screen instead of the item pretending that you said "yes."
From there, you can just X out the pop-up if you changed your mind entirely. :3

Calling Silver Artists and Pet Colorists!
Site Update

Are you a
Our current SCC Artist page is sorely in need of some pizazz and more company. I am going to be redoing the page with better instructions, up-to-date artist information and more artist choices so you can commission the pet of your dreams!
To be an official silver artist you must have a solid grasp of anatomy, shading and coloring, be able to provide PSD files, and work well with people. After all, communication is key to a commission!
If you are interested in applying, please send me a PM titled Silver Artist Application with at least 5 recent digital examples of your work. Ideal examples would be fully finished pieces of a variety of creatures. Show me what you can do with a 200 x 200 box! Payment will be discussed on an individual basis and can be either in GP or USD.
If you are a current PBC artist and would like to be listed as a silver artist as well (aka, are willing to take on commissions), contact me and I will put you up there!
The deadline to get your silver artist application in to me is Friday, March 23rd at 11:59 PM.
I am also looking to expand our pet colorist team!
Pet Colorists

Do you love coloring and editing official pet genuses? Do you enjoy designing pets to a theme?
Then you might like being an official pet colorist for Aywas!
To be an official colorist you must have a solid coloring background. Edits are not required but are a bonus. You should be able to consistently deliver at least five pets a week and must also be able to provide .PSD files.
Payment:
5 pets per week - $3 each
10 pets per week - $4 each
15 pets per week - $5 each
20 pets per week - $6 each
$ can be also translated into GP if you prefer GP.
If you are interested in becoming a colorist, please post at least 5 recent examples here.
If you were not selected last time and are still interested, please make a new post for me to review.
The deadline to post examples for this batch of colorists will be Friday, March 23rd at 11:59 PM.
Both silver artists and pet colorists work directly with me to receive assignments and payment, so if you have any questions, toss 'em my way!
Good luck! :3 I look forward to expanding our art teams.

KONY 2012
Site Update
If you haven't already heard of Kony 2012...
This video is trying to publicize the horrific actions of Joseph Kony, who abducts children and forces them to be child soldiers. The goal of the campaign is to have Joseph Kony arrested.
I think it is important. Please watch the video.
You can find more information at https://www.kony2012.com (it seems to be experiencing heavy traffic right now)

Some of my PBC artists are sad...
Items

Why are some of my PBC artists sad? Because they are (mostly) out of assignments :(
That is linked to the switches thread, by the way, in which you can switch your PBC breeding to an artist without a wait list for faster service.
To make my artists happier, I am going to be raffling off 10 PBCs tonight, all you have to do is comment on this news post, but... there's a catch... if you win a PBC through this news contest, you may only select artists from the switch list, because they are sad and need love :(
WINNERS
Mezma #6513
oce #508
Pinkerton #31808
JessicaMichalik #24767
Daph #318
emma t bunnie #26003
Xaiven #15348
Fiery #10722
Chezzeh #8466
Cyberstrike #9175
WINNERS, please submit your breeding and then send Lucy (#664) the information about your breeding and which three of the Switch artists you want to select. Please do not sell or transfer your PBC, that would be complicated to keep track of. Just use it.

The fate of predicts and much more... READ ME.
Site Update
We're listening. Always. I watch the forums and silently take note of things that could improve the breeding system, and the complaints and suggestions that many users vocalize regarding it. For weeks have the breeding team has discussed ways to revamp parts of a system that has been pretty much the same for over a year now. We've not made any major changes to things... until now.
As a warning, we've taken many things into consideration and have come up with methods that we feel for now will be good compromises. We can't please everyone, so whereas we know some people will be disappointed in some ways, know that this is all for the best, so that the breeding system can continue to grow.
PLEASE be sure to read this thoroughly!
First up, we have the Predicts system. The queue has exploded since introducing the predicts system so thinking of a way to tame it has been a task. I've spoken to my predict helpers and Graymare and Mauri alike and have taken into consideration what users have said. We've done a few things to remedy the situation and test the stability for future growth.
The biggest change is that we are now dropping extra predict needs. You will only need to submit what is needed for a coin now! No more extraneous predicts required (except for a few coins that will need it just because of the coin possibilities). This is how many you'll need now:
EBC - 2
Eggnog - 1 per side
HLBC - 1
BC - 2
HBC - 2
LBC - 2
MBC - 2
This way there's greater chance of getting what you want... but we're not going to allow just anything. Rules still apply! We have, however, simplified the rules so they're easier to understand and judge. See the updated predict rules below (will soon be on the top menu bar as well when Yasu can get around to it)!

There is also a forum post that will supplement these rules, found here:
https://www.aywas.com/forum/topic/153262/
To speed up predict processing we're going to require users to send in the PSDs of their predicts to an email for the predicts crew to handle. Predicts staff is now going to be fixing minor things on predicts to make them acceptable, and more major things will be rejected as the norm. This way we won't have back-and-forth reject tag going on. When I mean minor things being changed, I mean things such as color fixes, little edit shifts, tiny marking tweaks, etc. Major things that break the rules and are blatantly trying to abuse the system will just be sent back.
We also will be keeping track of major infractions against the predicts system and are going to enforce predict bans for those that continually attempt to break the rules. Note that this is only in drastic measures where a user disregards rules, deceives, or disrespects staff and will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
All PSDs for predicts should go to aywas.predicts@gmail.com, labeled with "ID x ID Breeding Predicts" in the subject line. You may also add your username in the email so we can more easily contact you about predict submissions. Once predicts are accepted it is your responsibility to send the PSDs in to [email protected] to have them on file later. You risk future breeding issues if you don't! If any PSD has to be tweaked a staff member will forward it to you when you receive your eggs.
More about the new rules and predict requirements are found up in that Predict Rules link. Thank Graymare and Mauri for being supertroopers in writing it! All of these rules are NOT retroactive and start as of this newspost -- all predicts added from hereon out are governed under the new rules and any currently in queue follow the older requirement rules. We still highly encourage you to send in PSD files for those babies you're waiting for currently though, as we can process them faster!

Another predict update: from now on we are no longer accepting RBC or Derp predicts. We will process what is in queue currently but from this newspost on users are not allowed to submit predicts for these coins. Predicts for these coins have been removed because its faster and easier to get a site artist to handle these than work them through the predicts system.
The Breeding Tutorial has also gotten an update!

Be sure to read it and if any questions are had, post them in the Help forum.
Whew! Now we do need to address artist positions. I've hired a Mistake fixer and this weekend have been blasting through answering the thread to get them started. Kazna will be your new fixer-upper for all mistake needs, so expect to see a lot of progress there!

We're in need of BC and LBC-grade workers at this time, and I know I've gotten some apps lately for others that I'll address this week. Pay grades have also been tweaked to reflect a better tiered system based on work completed:
BC: 10 GP per offspring
LBC: 7 GP per offspring
MBC: 5 GP per offspring
RBC: 4 GP per mutant, 7 GP per normal
Remember that all applications can be found here under Breeding Chat, and all apps should go to [email protected]!
I hope this encourages people to apply, as we really do need more talent on the team. Cash incentives are still active as well, but at this time we do not have contracts available. If you're interested in GP payments, though, we hope that these changes help spark interest. Predict caps have also been changed to reflect the artist pay scaling, something that can be found in the Tutorial.
But if that's not quite enough...
Artist incentives are now being introduced for breeding staff! This is a system that awards not only tenure on staff but the quality work produced in a timely manner. Every three lists artists receive an extra prize, and the awards get better the longer the artist works. I can't reveal all the secrets about this to you all, but know that the prizes are worth it. All artists currently on staff will be receiving these prizes from now on, beginning with their current lists (not retroactive, but still gonna be neat!).
Lastly, some unfortunate news about the Drinking Game. We all know the crons have been a bit odd and a lot of discussion regarding September through December has gone on trying to figure out how to handle the winners. There have been several batches that 'won' when really only one batch was the true winner. After sorting things out I do have January and February screenshots, but since there's no clear winners captured for those previous four months we will be unable to award prizes for those months. I know that this will highly upset people that worked hard to attain their spots but in order to be fair across the board we had to come to this decision. Now that we're aware of the problem and how to cope with it until the cron is fixed we can properly track those scores. Yes it's a site problem but even so this is the best decision we've come to so that things are fair.
I also was informed that the old Asher drinking game prizes were never sent out... I'll be taking care of those too. I wasn't aware they weren't done! But proper prizes will get distributed.

Two new breeding add-ons will appear in the near-future once they have been coded to work. Keep an eye out for them! You don't want to spill these.
That looks to be it! Thank you for your constant feedback and again, we all do this so that the userbase is able to experience the breeding system in a pleasant and concise manner. Your support and understanding is appreciated.
