Writing Contests
The Glittering Gala featured several types of writing contests to showcase various forms and levels of written command. Even though the prompts and parameters varied, each contest celebrated the Gala in some way.
Structured
The structured writing contest had a prompt of drama for the Glittering Gala.
Entries could take the form of either a short story or epic poem and had to follow specific guidelines. They were a joy go through, so check out the submissions if you haven't already! Here are our winners:

Freeform & Lyrical Poetry
For this contest, the task was to write free form or lyrical poetry that was meant to be read aloud and celebrated, honored or was appropriate for the Glittering Gala in some way. Character Creation

Medieval Fantasy Weapons!

Medieval weaponry has arrived!
You can now pick up these five weapons in the Seasonal Shop!
I will also be extending the time on catching the Medieval Fantasy pets until May 12th at 11:59 PM.
(That's the same time when the Seasonal Shop closes.)
The Gold Coins, however, will still be removed after tonight (May 11th) at 11:59 PM.
Our medieval feast is still to come and will help us wrap up the event. :)

Explore
Site Update
Just a quick little note to let you know that Explore is back up for now!
The Medieval pets are findable in Explore as well, though you'll have to use Adventure to access the Enchanted Forest and the Wasteland.
Reminder
Do not use any type of auto-refreshing or botting program in Explore/Adventure.
Holding down F5 is not okay. Opening 15 million Explore tabs within 2 seconds makes Aywas sadface.
This is a browser-based game, which means you have to click things. Make sure you give the page a chance to load before you do so, and you'll be good.

Medieval Fantasy!

In honor of Jodie (#304)'s birthday!
Surprise!
Once upon a time, in a kingdom far away, there was a world of gold, armor, and delectable food.
Ruled by a wise, true king, the land enjoyed prosperity and peace for decades until something out of his control threatened the universe he was entrusted to guide and protect.
A sickly, virulent horse shrouded in shadow brought famine to the land.
The vegetation withered, the water became tainted, and the essence of life itself seemed to be sapped from the kingdom, which devolved into war and struggle. Peasants fled, knights betrayed the crown, and the remnants of wealth and plenty that everyone previously enjoyed now divided them. Squandering what was left, much of the kingdom's treasures were thought to be lost, along with its valiant heroes--or so the legend goes.
Perhaps this tale can help to explain the mysterious Gold Coins appearing in the wilderness?
Take care when going after this tempting treasure, however, for it seems that there are some other characters after it, too...
Not only are these coveted gold coins shiny and, well, gold, but they will also be used to purchase some medieval must-haves! You can now pick up Knight and Mage items in the Seasonal Shop!
We will also be adding food and weapons to the store. :)
Here's some specific event details for you!
Piles of Gold Coins are appearing in every Adventure region in random piles of 1-10.
These are points and non-transferable.
All pets, save for the Finn, are catchable. Check the Aywapedia if you want to know where to find them. :)
We will make an announcement when the Seasonal Shop has been stocked with weapons and food, which will all be kept at similarly low prices. Gold is worth a lot, you know!
You have until May 11th at 11:59 PM to gather your coins and catch those pets.
The seasonal shop will be kept open through May 12th at 11:59 PM to give you extra time to grab your goodies!
(Yasu is working on opening Explore back up for us, so I'll keep you posted!)

"All the excavating in the region has unearthed a strange, new object that we've been working on extracting DNA from. It's a Honeycomb. Delicate and rare, you can pick up your own piece in exchange for Geodes, though we are not responsible for any critters that may emerge from it..."
Introducing the Vespa!
This is a rare pet that can be created with Honeycombs, which allow up to 50% edits like Finn Eggs. :)
You can now find the golden honeycomb in the Premium Outlet as per Ryou's request!

Remember to submit your Unknown Bones by 11:59 PM tonight!
All the Jurassic Day items will be pulled after that time.

The smell of spring... mushrooms?

Do I smell Explore pets?
Ew wait, no.
That is the smell of mushrooms!
Wibbits seem to have snuck into this batch instead of our expected Solis!
Next week's bonus explore pets are the Vyne, Rogr and Lacer!
If you color one of the above species and have it accepted, you'll receive 10 GP per coloration accepted instead of the normal 3GP!
If you want to design some, go and post them in their respective threads here!
And wait!
We have one more announcement for you.
The Easter Shop closes tonight at 11:59 PM Aywas Time. Get all the items/pets that you want before it closes! Don't forget!

Expedition Update

"Our expedition in the Arctic is winding down. You only have a few hours left to collect the T-Rex bones! But for the extra dedicated paleontologists out there, you'll probably be able to find the other gatherables (including Jurassic Essences and Expedition Kits) for a couple more days."
To be clear, the T-Rex bones will be removed from the Arctic sometime after 11:59 PM tonight.
We'll keep the Jurassic Essences, Expedition Kits and souvenir collectables in the region through May 7th at 11:59 PM as a little bonus. :3
Remember, though, you have to use your Unknown Bones by 11:59 PM on May 7th as well! After that, it will become a collectable.
We have one more surprise for you, but that will be revealed at the end. :)
