To play the free custom game, please include the phrase "CUSTOM #__" in your news comment. For example, if you want Custom 1, please comment "CUSTOM #1."
CUSTOM 1, #1, CUSTOM1, CUSTOM#1 = do not count as votes.
You don't have to capitalize the word, but you do have to include the exact phrase Custom #_ in your comment. It's fine if you have other content in your comment, but that particular phrase is not something you want to tinker with, because if you do, your post will be excluded when I run the script for winners. I see people posting incorrectly quite a bit, so I wanted to take a moment to clarify this. :3

June is finally here!
Embracing the transition between spring and summer, we have a new batch of GP Shop pets hungry for your sunny, shiny gold paws!

Floating down from the newly-turned June sky is our latest monthly Lunaris in the Chinese Zodiac collection--the Horse!
The premium monthly item is this seasonal Light Bloom Wardrobe, which contains a quaint HA set perfect for attending June weddings or afternoon tea gatherings! Here's a little preview:
The above HA is wearing the bonnet, dress, sash, slippers and tights, but there are many more pieces in this collection! It also contains a tie, shoes, a shirt, slacks, a jacket, hat and gloves. :)
Being custom-shipped to our premium users, you might notice that the wardrobe will be a little fashionably late to your home. Read: Yasu needs to reset the monthly item clock for me before you can collect the item. I will let you know when you can successfully collect it.

Thanks for being so cooperative and helpful through the rocky aftermath of our server move!
We will be tinkering around with the problems that have arisen and making the necessary adjustments for optimal performance, so I will try to keep you in the loop. This month we will be continuing our trend of focusing on old fixes, revamps and backlogged contest results--hopefully without interruption. XD
The high score tables will be one of our biggest tackle areas this month. We know that the crons did not successfully run last month and will be manually awarding prizes based on the information we have. The crons did not run yesterday/today either, so as soon as I can catch Yasu, he will manually execute them and then be able to reset the games for a fresh start. I will make a separate post on this issue, but I did want to touch on it here since it's on a monthly cycle.

Custom Rules Updates + Looking for Assistants!

Hey guys! Skitty, your (un)lovable Custom Admin here to bring you some updates.
First of all, we have a shiny new Custom Rules thread! I'd highly, HIGHLY encourage all of you to read it. No, really--READ IT. It's full of useful information on weirder custom items, more obscure rules, and clarification on some stuff that was previously ambiguous. GO. READ IT. RIGHT NOW.
Second, there have been some changes to the way the Crystal Thread is being handled. We have a new "What color crystal do I use?" thread--that wouldn't be worth a news post in itself, but I've added some extra rules and guidelines for getting your image checked. Make sure you follow them when you get your designs checked to minimize the strain on me and the wait time for you (as well as your fellow users!)
Additionally, we have the brand new Custom Updates thread. An update will be posted there whenever the Crystal Thread is checked by a custom thread moderator. The goal here is to make it so that users can easily track whether their post has been answered or not without needing to stalk or subscribe to the Crystal Thread itself. Useful, yes?
Finally, I'm looking to hire some assistants. Here's the application--fill it out and PM it to me (#543) if you're interested in helping out.

Downtime Potion

As our server move downtime was rather long and obnoxious, I have a little gift that you can use to commemorate that time that you did something other than spend time on Aywas - perhaps you even did homework *grin*

It can create one of three SCCs, your choice, below from Imay, Osiem, and Airr (no edits):
The Downtime Potion will be in the Advent Calender on June 1, 2012. Make sure to set aside some time to log in on that day and grab the potion :)

Server Move
Site Update
Our server move was a pain in the butt, but successful. Things will probably still be rocky for the first few days though. The site is going to lag as the cache program reloads all the data into it, but it'll speed up after that.
Things might be a bit wonky because this is a new server and sometimes you have to tweak settings to get it the most optimal. We'll play it by ear as it happens.

We only have a couple hours left before the big move!
Are you guys excited? :3 I am!
If you are anything like me and will be fiddling with Aywas PSDs during the downtime, you might want to check out the Exotic Pet Day thread. Eli is hosting an event on the 7th and accepting user submissions for the pet colorations! So, if you're looking for something to keep you busy, you might try your hand at some exotic pets!
We had a couple other things planned for the end of the month (Paleo Day and a user event) that will obviously be getting shifted around. Once the site is back up, we'll play things by ear until we can get back on schedule.
I also wanted to announce our winner for the Story Game this week for Sennara!

Explore Time!

Hello all, Kyu here! *unexpectedly nervous*
I'm standing in for Mauri this week as she's off on an adventure!
That aside, it's time for a new batch of Explore pets, Yay~
Next week's bonus explore pets are the Phanto, Reve and Soli!
If you color one of the above species and have it accepted, you'll receive 10 GP per coloration accepted instead of the normal 3GP!
If you want to design some, go and post them in their respective threads here!
Don't forget that The Little Pet Shop of Horrors renovation will be over at the end of the June!
Be sure to get any of the current store pets you want before July comes!

Server Move + Downtime
Site Update
We're all going on this trip together, so grab your snack bars and pull up a chair for some important details! :3
Slash has informed me that Aywas will be embarking on its planned server move on Monday, May 28th at 12:00 AM AST/CST (that's one minute after 11:59 PM on Sunday). Prior to this time, you may use the site as normal.
At the scheduled time, Aywas will be going down and will remain down until all of the data has successfully migrated to the new server.
A new server is really exciting! This will be a tremendous help to the lag issues we've been enduring, means no more weekly crashes, give us more room to host your pretty custom pet images, and offer us just more speed, storage, and space in general.
To prevent misinformation from floating around out there, the downtime is mandatory.
While we could migrate some data in the background with a live site, because new data is constantly being added, that means most of your gameplay wouldn't be copied over to the new server and that we'd have to disable custom and breeding scripts. Even in that scenario, the site would eventually have to go down to move the database anyway.
Instead of messing with all that and risking data loss, we are simply taking the site down and moving everything at one time. Your account information will be safe and you will not lose your daily login bonus or your Xero streak. :3
Downtime does not mean glitchfixing! time. I saw some confusion over this, so I wanted to take a moment to explain that the site has to go down in order to safely move the data. It has nothing to do with going in and fixing bugs; messing with fixes while the site is being migrated would not be possible.
Due to the size of Aywas, we do not have an ETA on how long the migration will take. We will be posting updates on our Facebook page as we receive them. You should be able to see the updates even if you are not logged in or don't have an account.
If you need to directly reach me for any reason during the move, you may contact me at [email protected]. I will also try to hang out on the Aywas AIM account, which is aywasteam. The support e-mail, [email protected], will also be open.
If I get any more information or updates from Slash, I will be sure to pass them on to you! We really appreciate your patience, understanding and cooperation through this process, which will benefit everyone.
While the site is down, try to relax and enjoy your time elsewhere! Let the server team do their job. :) Aywas will be waiting for you when it comes back up. <3
