New Feature
Good evening, folks! We have something brand new to show you, but before I tell you exactly what it is, I'm going to defer to Helmy (#1401), who has used the power of a Slashbot to bring a creative feature to Aywas.
Hi there, I'm Helmy! Today I have something I hope you will enjoy and find a fun addition to the site; Matty's Maze! I've seen many people ask for something to do in addition to Adventure, and hopefully this will cater to those desires. As it is a permanent feature you will be able to explore the maze and earn BP to your heart's content. This new site feature, brought to you by a Slashbot Slot, is very near and dear to my heart, as some of you know that I have a little boy named Matty for whom this is dedicated. I pray that you all enjoy the maze!

Today we are doing a soft launch of a new maze and puzzle feature!
(You'll have to discern what the overall goal is for yourself as more levels are revealed. *wink*)
Here is how the game works:
Level 1
- You are in Ay City, and must complete a good ol' fashioned maze to travel onward. Simply click on any tile surrounding the character to move to that spot.
- Once you successfully find the Exit, you will receive a BP reward, small prize, and unlock access to a puzzle.
- The puzzle you will encounter asks you to arrange mysterious Aywas glyphs in a particular order. The game uses a drag-and-drop method and will tell you how many glyphs you have in the correct spot--but won't tell you which ones. It's sneaky like that. To find out how many you have right, simply arrange the glyphs in your preferred order and hit "Check Answer."
- Once you successfully solve the puzzle, you will be rewarded with your very own Paw Glyph, which will unlock the forum title "Puzzler."

Currently, you can just play through the level once since this is a soft launch.
We will be adding additional obstacles/challenges and features to the maze portion, the ability to replay, lots of artwork, and difficulty options.
One of the great structures that we have built into this feature is the prize system, which has the ability to award the first X amount of users a particular prize. Everyone who completes the maze and puzzle portions of Level 1 will currently receive the same prize, but we will have the capability to make this feature more competitive in the future.
There will ultimately be at least five levels in this feature, each with a maze component and a unique puzzle component. Before building the entire feature completely, we are doing this soft launch to see how both you and the site itself handle the core of the gameplay. :3

Evil Mini-Contest Winners!

The forces of evil have been sent back to the depths in which they crawled from! Cheers of triumph reign over the lands of Ay and Ara as the last few minions of darkness are squashed. As much as the celebration brings joy to the residents, many have the sinking feeling that evil will someday return for a rematch...
Congratulations to Rorro #33668, Gothbutter #14083, and Suea Peek #10714 as our winners of the Something Wicked This Way Comes contest! Hopefully their pets have changed back to normal after the effects of the Evil Breeding Coins have vanished...
Also give a round of applause to T-Bizzle #21468, Madb #39659, and flippery #5773 as our winners of the Undead Army Strikes contest! They truly painted a vivid picture of the fight against the Undead King, and we hope he never will show his face again.
These two contests were very hard to judge, but I'm thrilled to see that people enjoyed them! If you liked this and the HBC contest (and others such as the Ugly Breeding Contests, the latest of which will have winners posted soon) then you can always suggest more! I love to do these sorts of tiny events.

Pet Coloration Submissions Forum Update

Tails... TAILS EVERYWHERE.
What is this little guy doing here? Well...
The Pet Coloration Submissions Forum is getting a little bit of a revamp! We realize that the rewards were not keeping up with the economy, so we hope these changes raise the motivation to submit designs!
For those of you who do not know, that forum is where users can submit designs for the chance of their designs being accepted and added to the site as official pets! The pets will usually be added in either Adventure, or the Pet shop.
Here are the changes we've made to the rewards:
* Payout changed from 3 GP to 5 GP for each design accepted.
* An alt-line set whose custom making item is only obtainable through the Pet Coloration Submissions Forum. For every 5 pets accepted you'll get a custom making item for the line set that allows 50% edits.
* Still get a copy of the pet when it is released on site.
* Still get 5 SP for every 10 accepted designs
* Still get a ticket towards the next monthly raffle for each design accepted. The raffle is drawn every other Adventure Pet release (approximately every month) and the winning user wins a random prize, which is either a bronze, blue, gold, or nova custom crystal or orb.
What's this alt-line set that is unique to the Pet Coloration Submissions Forum? That tail monster at the top of the news post wants to exist, so he's going to become the special alt-line set! He's an Orimi, if you couldn't guess. :D He'll be shaded up and finished with a custom-making item all set to go by the next time we accept designs!
The GP reward change and the custom-making item reward change are not retroactive. They will only apply to designs accepted from the forum after this news post.
We hope this spices up the forum!
